Add topicWhy have I been blocked?
[edit]@Drmies: Hello, my IP address seems to have been blocked. This has happened to me before but I'd been informed the reason was the nature of my IP address (Open... something. Sorry, I don't know anything about the topic) and not something I have done. Can you tell me why I have been blocked this time? I just want to make sure I haven't made any harmful edits or vandalized a page unintentionally. I should probably clarify I am registered (I have an account, as you can see) but still can't edit. Teangacha (talk) 21:37, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's not you; you're on a range that was blocked for persistent vandalism, so persistent that we had no option but to block a couple ranges, and that includes two on which you are active. I blocked this one, the other was blocked by a colleague who must have thought the same thing I did. I'll tell you, it's some pretty dumb and incredibly disruptive behavior, it's been going on for years, and unfortunately you are also suffering the consequences. Anyway, I checked, and you should now have permission to edit. Please check and tell me if it worked. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 21:50, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you kindly, I totally understand that these things might happen and that blocking a range might be the most efficient way of dealing with vandalism. Everything seems to be working perfectly. Thank you for the help, have a good day! Teangacha (talk) 21:53, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- Absolutely: sorry for the trouble, enjoy editing, and take care. Drmies (talk) 22:03, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

I just saw your edit: please include edit summaries. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 23:48, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah I'm sorry I just didn't want to bother any longer Teangacha (talk) 23:57, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry my reply got cut off. I was wondering if I can get the same kind of exemption you gave me for the Italian Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I can't edit my talk page either on there. I hope I'm not overstepping, if it's not possible of course it's totally fine. Teangacha (talk) 00:07, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
- Ha, I can't help you with that--I have no global rights. You'll have to ask them there. Drmies (talk) 00:16, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Languages of Finland, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bloomberg was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 10:19, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

[edit]
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Karine Claireaux when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.
