Question from Bexonr (21:18, 5 August 2026)

[edit]

Hi there! I’d love to submit a page for people I look up to and just have interested covering. Is this possible? --Bexonr (talk) 21:18, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Bexonr, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
It's great you want to contribute to Wikipedia, but there are a few important things to keep in mind. We only keep articles about subjects that are notable. This has a special definition on Wikipedia, and usually includes subjects that have received significant coverage in various independent reliable sources. Read WP:NOTABLE for in-depth info.
If you think the subject you have in mind meets the criteria in the page I linked above, have a read of WP:YFA and follow the steps there. It's also important to write from a neutral point of view and not promote the subject of an article.
Let me know if you have any further questions:) SnowyRiver28 (talk) 05:33, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Dalewelch02031979 (19:46, 8 August 2026)

[edit]

How can i create a wikipedia page about myself or my business? --Dalewelch02031979 (talk) 19:46, 8 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Dalewelch02031979, welcome to Wikipedia.
Writing articles about people or things you are closely connected with (including yourself) is strongly discouraged.
For starters, the subject would need to meet the notability criteria. Does the topic you have in mind satisfy this criteria? SnowyRiver28 (talk) 03:23, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Muhammad Aarib Saeed (11:56, 9 August 2026)

[edit]

Hello Mr.Mentor I just started Wikipedia and i don't know how to write a article and publish I don't know what is it. Please Guide me. --Muhammad Aarib Saeed (talk) 11:56, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Muhammad Aarib Saeed, welcome to Wikipedia.
Writing an article is quite difficult and requires knowledge of many different areas of Wikipedia. As such, it's generally not really recommended for beginners.
Have a read of this page, which has info for beginners looking to write their first article, if you'd like to proceed.
Let me know if you have any further questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 03:24, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Gough Whitlam pours dirt through Vincent Lingiari's fingers.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:28, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Good article nominations RfC

[edit]

Hi SnowyRiver28,

There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.

By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.

Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:03, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Dz5t 8O12 (17:39, 12 August 2026)

[edit]

Hello, I nominated an article for deletion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Afreen_Fatima_(2nd_nomination) and got criticisms about as the article was nominated within 6 months. However the article is poorly sourced and the BLP has had SIGCOV added. --Dz5t 8O12 (talk) 17:39, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Splendor Reviews (13:14, 13 August 2026)

[edit]

Hello Mentor, it is a pleasure studying your work on wikipedia to better my editing skills, and also work on several wiki projects. What advice do you have for a beginner in this space and how do you think they can improve on themself. I look forward to your reply. Cheers --Splendor Reviews (talk) 13:14, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Mentee

[edit]

Hello,

I look forward to having you as a mentor. I'm sorry if I sound uncharacteristically formal, I am still not sure what tone I'm expected to go for on here.

I've had a skim through one of your entries. The one on the age of the universe. And I was curious if you were planning to follow theoretical ideas? I'm not very initiated in cosmology, but I was wondering if I could trial editing on the entry? If I'm not overstepping, I hope.

Thank you! NessunoAskush (talk) 15:00, 13 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from ParallelUniversity (02:04, 14 August 2026)

[edit]

Hi SnowyRiver! I am new here and want to try editing some articles but also want to create an article that isn't here yet. I have a COI to report first though. Can you guide me in doing that? Alternatively, I was wondering if I could suggest the article be vetted for notability and created by someone else...? Thanks in advance for your feedback! --ParallelUniversity (talk) 02:04, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
