Question from Elduboisartist (15:06, 27 May 2026)
[edit]Hi! I am trying to create but I cannot figure out what I’m supposed to do or how I’m supposed to create a page. I’ve created the coding I’ve created the disclosure so that I’m not violating anything can you help me? walk me through what I need to do please and thank you so much. I truly appreciate you.
I have coded biography, but I don’t know how to put it in. Please help. Thank you so much. --Elduboisartist (talk) 15:06, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Elduboisartist! It seems that your only contribution on the English Wikipedia so far has been to ask this question. Have you ‘coded this biography’ off-wiki? If so, it would help to be able to see it so I can figure out exactly what’s going on (whether the article is sourced, whether you appear to have a COI, et cetera). Unless you give me more information, I don’t know if I’ll be able to help. However, I can say, as a general rule, that creating an article is not a beginner task on Wikipedia, and considering that this is your only contribution, you are a beginner editor. It may be better to start with simpler tasks like copyediting and participating in talk page discussions. Let me know if you have further questions! - Erica "EL" DuBois (born Erica Lea DuBois) is an American bestselling author, screenwriter, independent filmmaker, and visual artist. She writes primarily within the Southern Gothic, paranormal horror, dark fantasy, and cult-classic drama genres. DuBois is a Staff Writer at Akula Literary Partners and serves as the Co-Founder and President of the Twisted Crown Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on trauma recovery through the arts.
- == Early life and family heritage ==
- DuBois was born and raised in Texas. She is a member of the Polish-Texan Matysiak family, which has established a distinct creative presence in Texas independent cinema through a combined commitment to mainstream genre elements and independent social-impact projects. Her creative work is influenced by her upbringing in the 1980s and 1990s, during which she developed an interest in comic books, cult films, and modern pop culture.
- Before entering the entertainment industry professionally, DuBois survived a seven-year period of human trafficking, stalking, and domestic abuse. Following her escape, she utilized creative writing, poetry, and visual art as core therapeutic tools to process trauma and recovery.
- == Career ==
- === Literature and publishing accolades ===
- DuBois's literary style incorporates immersive worldbuilding, atmospheric narratives, and multi-genre themes of redemption, identity, legacy, and resilience. In March 2024, she joined Akula Literary Partners, Inc. as a Staff Writer, where she develops original character-driven literary properties, sequential art assets, and screenplays. Her titles have achieved bestselling status across major literary platforms and recognized book lists, notably securing audiobook award status in 2020.
- Her published works and original multimedia properties include:
- Poetry of the Broken – An early collection of therapeutic poetry that served as the foundational material for her initial published biographical memoir.
- Twisted Crown: A Tale of a Broken Kingdom – A biographical dark fantasy romance narrative framing the psychological realities of trauma survival through a reimagined folklore framework. The novel won Book of the Year in 2018, was nominated for a Rita Award in 2019, and was optioned for Hollywood feature film adaptation. In 2025, it was awarded International Social Impact Book of the Year. For her body of work, DuBois received a nomination for International Impact Author of the Year in 2026.
- SugarFields – A young adult fiction novel.
- Ransom, Texas – A Southern Gothic property developed for multi-media and screenplay expansion.
- NOLA Bound
- Infamous Saints – A character-driven genre series developed for graphic novel and screen adaptation.
- === Film production and "Film Family" model ===
- As an independent filmmaker and executive producer, DuBois pursued practical film production and script coordination training to maintain ownership and creative equity over her intellectual properties. Operating under production banners including Poodle in a Pit Bull Fight Productions, So & So Productions, and 3 Generations of Trouble, she champions an egalitarian "film family" model that bridges independent social-impact cinema with mainstream Hollywood technical standards.
- Through the Twisted Crown Foundation, DuBois produced the feature film Journey, an initiative designed to provide safe, professional set environments where trauma survivors can work in technical and production roles without being compelled to publicly disclose their survivor status.
- Her core production and collaborative team includes members of her family and creative inner circle:
- **J. Mackie Matysiak** – Her brother, who serves as a writer and director.
- **John Matysiak** – Her cousin, who operates as a professional cinematographer.
- **Skylar Rose** – Her daughter, an actress and collaborator on creative properties.
- DuBois serves on the Advisory Board of Hire Survivors Hollywood and the board of directors for Higher Survivors Homewood. In these roles, she functions as an industry consultant advocating for set safety, victim representation, and the industry-wide implementation of qualified intimacy coordinators.
- == Advocacy and public policy ==
- In April 2021, DuBois co-founded the Twisted Crown Foundation, serving as its President and Executive Director. In 2023, the foundation formally launched its Healing Initiative Program, establishing art therapy resources, community forums, and creative outlets for victims of sexual assault and domestic exploitation.
- DuBois is a public speaker, a member of the RAINN Speakers Bureau, and a speaker for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV). Her activism extends to federal legislative reform targeting big tech accountability and child safety online. In April 2026, DuBois participated on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., for RAINN's annual Congressional Day of Action. During this federal legislative push, she met with U.S. Senators and House Representatives to lobby for stronger protections against tech-enabled sexual abuse (TESA), strict regulations surrounding non-consensual deepfakes, and support for federal safety legislation, including the NO FAKES Act, the Defiance Act, and the GUARD Act.

- I write all of my own bios but I do have a PR person for the foundation and press. Thank you again! Elduboisartist (talk) 22:24, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, okay, so you did write this yourself; you said it was the bio that was
put together for [you]
, which implied someone else wrote it, so I just wanted to ask about that. - On Wikipedia, writing an article about yourself is highly discouraged, as is writing an article about your company, your relatives, or someone who has paid you. In addition to this, you’re very, very new at editing, so it’d likely be best for you to start smaller; for example, copyediting, or adding your opinion to article talk pages to help generate a consensus. I don’t say this to discourage you, but merely to inform you that writing an article is generally not for beginner editors.
- Why do you even want an article about yourself? The answer to that always helps inform the situation. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 22:48, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

- It’s okay; most people don’t know this when they first start out! Until someone unrelated to you has decided to create an article about you, the professional/correct information will have to come from things like your own blogs and social media posts and whatnot. Thanks for asking, and thanks for your time! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 23:01, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Gerçek Yarasa (04:32, 28 May 2026)
[edit]Hello! I mainly just wanted to say hi because I'm curious about how mentorship works but there is something I'm wondering about. How do you search for sources? I have my own method of finding books and papers that has worked for me (mostly regarding linguistics) but if you have any tips to share it'd really help. Thank you. --Gerçek Yarasa (talk) 04:32, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- Honestly, I don’t really look for sources myself that often. Searching for sources is really difficult for me personally (almost all my information comes from Wikipedia), which is why I don’t create articles. If I were willing to bother looking for sources, I would’ve made a few articles by now. However, WP:FIND has a few tips, including:
- The Wikipedia Library is an initiative to help Wikipedians get access to subscription or paid sources to improve Wikipedia articles. Editors with accounts in good standing can apply for access to databases, once they have made least 500 edits in Wikipedia over a period of six months. And anyone can request specific sources, or request help with research.
- Several general search engines exist for more academic material, particularly scholarly articles, although some content will be behind a paywall: examples are Google Scholar, BASE, the Internet Archive's https://scholar.archive.org/, ScienceOpen, and OpenAlex.
- WorldCat has millions of books and journal articles, and if you register for a free account, it will show you the closest libraries to you that have the source you are looking for. Some books and articles are available in full-text versions which you can view or borrow online.
- Hope that helps! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 04:44, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ah I see. Good to know I don't have to do that all the time. I'm really interested in doing research so I can add information to pages, but indeed that can take a lot of effort.
- Thanks for the link, that's what I was looking for.
- Woah, I had no idea the Wikipedia Library existed! That's fantastic, I hope I can get there very soon. Gerçek Yarasa (talk) 05:14, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from QuiteoddgrapeFruit (11:20, 1 June 2026)
[edit]Hello. I was wondering how to find citations to add to Wikipedia articles. --QuiteoddgrapeFruit (talk) 11:20, 1 June 2026 (UTC)

Do you think the Jefre Cantu Ledesma page could use a section discussing the evolution of his sound? --Affrug (talk) 10:09, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Only if you source it well enough. The page already has an article banner noting that it needs additional citations for verification. But if you can source it well enough, and you feel it’s relevant, then by all means, go ahead! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 23:07, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
Hi there!
I'm drafting a page about a business (similar to the Apple Inc page). Will sources taken directly from the company's website be viewed as strong references? E.g. the company's number of employees, what services they offer, what clients they've worked for. --Tenysen (talk) 07:07, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- It really depends on the type of information you’re looking to source. Employee count is irrelevant to articles about businesses, so there’s no need to worry about that. As for what services they offer, you’re generally better off getting that from independent sources that won’t play it up and use a bunch of weasel words. And does what clients they’ve worked for matter to this page? If so, why?
- As an aside, I’d like you to read through WP:NPOV, which is a policy I think you’ll find helpful while writing this page. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 20:21, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks so much for a rapid response :D
- I guess the page I'm looking to build would end up very similar in format and information to this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram_(design_firm). This company page has client info, famous projects, and other topics sourced from the official Pentagram website (amongst other external sources). Tenysen (talk) 09:25, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks for pointing my attention to that page; it seems like it could actually use a bit of work. For one, having a list of clients isn’t recommended; see due weight. In addition, the style of your draft and your interest in having an article on this company would imply a conflict of interest, which means you are connected in some way to the subject of this article. Creating an article on a subject for which you have a COI is not prohibited, per se, but it is strongly discouraged. Do you have a connection to this company? Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 03:38, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
I plan to make edits in the near future of a specific page of the organization that I work for with outdated data from 10 years ago. I want to update the numbers and add data. Is that possible? this is my first time utilizing wikipedia and editing for the organization, so I just wanted to make sure that the edits would happen and they would remain. however, I don't know much about wikipedia policy etc. --Mmbartok (talk) 15:48, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Because you have a conflict of interest with this company, meaning you are connected in some way to it, you aren’t allowed to make any substantial changes to a page about the company. However, you are absolutely allowed to make an edit request on the talk page, where a Wikipedia editor will get to it eventually and assess neutrally whether or not to make your suggested edit. For more on how to format edit requests, see here. Let me know if you have any further questions! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 21:03, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from ISAIAH2GUD (17:35, 17 June 2026)
[edit]Hi Wiki Mentor, I want to make a wikipedia page on my highschool, do you recommend visual editing? --ISAIAH2GUD (talk) 17:35, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Most schools aren’t notable and don’t qualify for a Wikipedia page; which school are you talking about and what makes you think it’s notable? Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 21:04, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Del Oro highschool in Bakersfield, California. I think just because it's maybe a newer school and has some good records ISAIAH2GUD (talk) 21:07, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Could you provide some sources demonstrating that it’s notable? On Wikipedia, the word ‘notable’ has a different definition than it does in real life; it means that there has been significant, independent coverage of the subject in reliable sources, and to demonstrate that something is notable, you must provide the sources to prove it. Anything non-notable can’t have a Wikipedia article. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 21:19, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

- also, I was wondering. How do I make user boxes for my user page? ISAIAH2GUD (talk) 22:27, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Do you mean creating your own or adding some to your userpage? If you mean creating one, I learned to do that from WP:USERBOXES, and if you mean adding one to your userpage, the documentation tends to be labeled next to the userbox if you’re going through one of the userbox galleries. You can look at the source code of my own userpage as a reference if it still seems confusing! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 01:31, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hey Shadestar! 👋🏽🎸✨
I just wanted to drop a line to say thank you so much for being my mentor! 🌟 Honestly, it feels completely surreal to be here—being able to edit these pages and actively become a part of the global community that writes internet history feels absolutely amazing! 🌍✍🏽🔥
Since you're the expert guide on this journey, I wanted to ask you a question : 🎭📖
We are just words in a vast, unfolding space, 🌌✨ Seeking to give every forgotten legend its place. 🏛️🐉 How can I polish my craft and do more, 🛠️💎 To be truly useful to the great Wiki lore? 📜🦅
Would love to know your best tips on how I can level up from here and be super useful to the team! 🚀🎮💥 --MISS CIPHYY (talk) 07:14, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Depends on what you want to do, honestly! You want to protect Wikipedia from vandals? Edit pages for grammar and stuff? Participate in important talk page discussions? There’s loads of stuff to do, I couldn’t even list it all. There’s different best practices for different styles of editing, and different policies and guidelines to follow for different tasks. What sort of editing interests you?
- Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 07:53, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hey Shadestar! 🌟 Playback received! 🎸
- I definitely want to lean into copyediting, history, grammar, and ancient civilizations/languages! 📜🏛️ As a writer, I love diving into pages about old poets, ancient lore, and historical figures, but making sure the grammar is flawless and the sentence flow actually feels alive.
- I want to learn the official Wikipedia way to present these topics cleanly, while refining the tone so it’s engaging and sharp for my generation to read—without ever changing the facts or compromising neutrality, of course! Pure truth, just told with better rhythm. 🕊️✨
- Where is the best place or backlog for me to start hunting for these kinds of history and language pages that need a serious polish? 🛠️🦅 MISS CIPHYY (talk) 13:38, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- If you want, you can visit the Guild of Copyeditors and go to the copyedit backlog and work your way through articles there, or you can participate in any copyediting blitz or copyediting drive they’re doing at the moment. You can visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives#Finding articles for ways to find articles to copy edit relating to a specific subject area (such as history).
- You may also want to take a look around WikiProject History, WikiProject Languages and WikiProject Latin, or WikiProject Culture. They’re essentially groups of editors all dedicated to improving articles on their respective WikiProjects’ topics, and you may find something helpful there or even want to join one. :)

- As an aside, your comments look a bit AI-generated; they might not be, but if they are, you should be aware of WP:NEWLLM and that using an LLM to generate replies on talk pages is very frowned upon. Almost any way to use an AI on Wikipedia is disallowed, so just be careful of that. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 23:02, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Georgia Kidd (02:30, 25 June 2026)
[edit]Hi, i want to find journalist's that want to write a article about me? --Georgia Kidd (talk) 02:30, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- If by journalists, you mean Wikipedia editors, you’ll have to provide sources to prove you’re notable. You’ll need at least three reliable, independent sources, meaning said sources 1) can be trusted by Wikipedia, and 2) are completely uninvolved with you. If you can find that, you might be able to find someone willing to write an article about you, although you’re not allowed to write it yourself. Let me know if you have further questions! Question from Dnmpublications (15:06, 3 July 2026)
[edit]How to start a new Wikipedia article? --Dnmpublications (talk) 15:06, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- It depends; what are you looking to start a Wikipedia article on? If you’re looking to start an article on DNM Publications, you’re probably not allowed to do that, depending on what connection you have to DNM Publications. You should disclose what your connection with them is on your userpage. On Wikipedia, writing an article about yourself is highly discouraged, as is writing an article about your company, your relatives, or someone who has paid you. In addition to this, you’re very, very new at editing, so it’d likely be best for you to start smaller; for example, copyediting, or adding your opinion to article talk pages to help generate a consensus. I don’t say this to discourage you, but merely to inform you that writing an article is generally not for beginner editors.
- In addition, your username violates WP:SPAMNAME. I suggest you abandon this account and create a new one that does not violate the username policy. Let me know if you have any further questions! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (any/all) In solidarity. 23:12, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

- Hello, @ThebestDimension! First, please don’t open two sections for the same question. I’ve deleted your first question to prevent it from cluttering up the page. - Would it be good idea to begin work on new page while this is in review or shall i get this live first ? what do you recommend MalhotraN (talk) 05:56, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
- Your draft is actually already out of review, since it was declined. The reviewer noted that you did not provide sufficient sources.
- Due to technical issues of the device I’m using currently, I’m unable to search for sources using, for example, Google, so I can’t answer this question for myself, but have you considered the subject may not be notable in the Wikipedia sense of the term? If this is the case, then no matter how well it’s written, new page reviewers will not accept an article on him. I would recommend trying to assess that first before you continue. Question from First tracer (09:09, 10 July 2026)
[edit]Hello, i wanted to translate pages in greek. I dont understand how to add pictures. For example here https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%A3%CE%B9%CF%84%CF%81%CE%BF%CE%BE i cant find a way to put the logo picture as in the same way as the english article --First tracer (talk) 09:09, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @First tracer! This is because File:Cytrox logo.png is a non-free image hosted locally on the English Wikipedia. It isn’t on Commons, nor on the Greek Wikipedia as far as I can tell, so you can’t use it in that article because as far as Greek Wikipedia is concerned, the file doesn’t exist. Question from Helena Hansen Jonsson (19:08, 12 July 2026)
[edit]Hello my Mentor :D I am trying to learn "the ropes of wiki editing" and I would like to do do some changes in this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morana_(goddess)
I am a bit confused, since someone is asking for a citation:
(The tradition is usually celebrated around the spring equinox (March 21).[citation needed])
Drowning of Morana is a common practice where I live, and kinda obvious when we celebrate it - on spring equinox. Should I just link articles from the news (for example local news from my town) showing people celebrating the drowning of the effigy like the one below? (It's written in Polish)
https://www.trojmiasto.pl/nauka/Marzanny-maja-dzis-ciezki-dzien-Trojmiejscy-uczniowe-witaja-wiosne-n67314.html --Helena Hansen Jonsson (talk) 19:08, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Helena Hansen Jonsson! Basically what you need to do is to cite reliable sources. ‘Reliable’ means that it’s one of the sources that Wikipedia trusts; more information on that can be found at WP:RS. Cite a good source and you should be good. Let me know if you’ve got any more questions! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 23:56, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

What is a Wiki Mentor ???
[edit]Hi,
I just got an email saying you are my new Wiki Mentor. What is a Wiki Mentor? What do you do as a Mentor? I have been using Wiki for years and contributing money to keep Wikipedia alive but never knew that Mentors existed.
A little about me: I am the author of three books on pattern design for clothes. My "How to Make Sewing Patterns" has now been continuously in print since 1973. I also have free online Patternmaking Classes with hundreds of videos to demonstrate the concepts in my books. I have recently added classes for Computer Aided Pattern Design which shows how to use a computer for pattern design including using the latest print and cut equipment. I am very excited by a new idea I will be developing Computer Aided Pattern & Fabric Design which shows people how they can create their own two-dimensional fabric designs within the shape of custom fit three-dimensional patterns. I believe this capability available through current technology is going to ignite a very strong interest in people who want to create one-of-a-kind wearable art.
Enough about me. Back to my original question "What do you do as my Wiki Mentor"?
Best,
Don McCunn DonMcCunn (talk) 17:35, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @DonMcCunn! The reason you’ve never had a mentor before, I presume, is because this is your first time creating an account. A Wikipedia mentor is essentially a human volunteer who answers newcomers’ questions about how to use and edit Wikipedia. If you’d like a preview of how this normally works, you can scroll through my talk page and look at other mentees’ questions that I’ve answered. You can ask me any question about editing Wikipedia, and I’ll answer it to the best of my ability! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 00:29, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. I can't be absolutely sure but I think I have had a Wikipedia account for a couple of decades. The notice I got is that you are replacing a previous Mentor. One I never heard from. DonMcCunn (talk) 20:31, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, then that would probably be that that mentor has either stopped mentoring or has taken a break from mentoring. As for never hearing from them, mentors don’t tend to interact much with their mentees unless one specifically asks a question, although that’s not universal. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 20:40, 16 July 2026 (UTC)

Hello. I am Rodney Nonaka-Hill, co-founder of Nonaka-Hill galleries in Los Angeles and Kyoto. We are a commercial gallery but we have a self-imposed mandate to keep Japan and its diaspora present in every show that we produce. So, we are quite a bit more "educational" than most commercial galleries. I want to generate some Wikipedia pages for artists whose estates we represent, who have significant stories and growing public interest (Kenzi Shiokava and Sawako Goda + additional development on Kimiyo Mishima.) How can I start these pages for Kenzi Shiokava & Sawako Goda? I am the person with the energy to do it and I am the person with all the materials... Thank you! --NHGLAKYO (talk) 23:54, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @NHGLAKYO! Basically, you can’t. This sounds like a very disappointing answer, I know; but you appear to have a financial conflict of interest with these artists. Because you do, you are not allowed to write an article on them. You may request that someone else create an artist on them through WP:AfC, but they may not be notable; if that is the case, no one can create an article on them. Hello, I'm wondering the protocol for updating articles that are out of date but the current publicly available information is also not up to date. Specifically, college sports team rosters. There are a couple pages that have rosters still from the 2022-23 season, 4 years out of date, but currently no roster has been released for the 2026-27 season, so I would have to update the article to the 2025-26 season roster, which is technically already out of date. Is it better to leave them out of date and wait for the most up-to-date information or to update them to the available info that is technically wrong? --29mpp (talk) 14:32, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @29mpp! Could you point me to a few such pages? I could be wrong, but it doesn’t sound like sports team rosters warrant inclusion in a Wikipedia article; being able to see what you’re talking about specifically would help me find the relevant policies. Thanks! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 23:12, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- Sure! I should say that it is common practice on sports team articles to have a current roster listed, at least for professional sports. The specific articles I'm referencing are Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey and Brown Bears women's ice hockey, though there are more examples I'm sure. 29mpp (talk) 23:38, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- My best advice would be to update it to the 2025-26 season, but I tried typing some relevant keywords into a Wikipedia namespace search and didn’t find any policy pages referring to this sort of thing, so I’m not entirely sure. If you want, you can follow my advice, or you can ask at the Teahouse; someone there probably knows. Cheers! 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 02:06, 24 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from Daniel Galmiche (21:44, 27 July 2026)
[edit]Hello Shadestar — I've just created this account. I am the subject of a Wikipedia article about me (Daniel Galmiche) and, following the conflict-of-interest guidance, I've posted a request on its Talk page rather than editing directly. The article states I have held one Michelin star since 1990, whereas stars were held at four separate restaurants across my career.
Could you tell me whether I've followed the right process, and whether there's anything further I should do? I can supply published sources including contemporary press coverage. Thank you. --Daniel Galmiche (talk) 21:44, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

- Hello, @Sunny benz. Please do not open two sections for the same question. I have deleted your previous one. In addition, linking to the talk page on the talk page does absolutely nothing to speed up my reply, and actually comes off as WP:SPAMMY. I have deleted the link you posted.
- As for your article, I would like to explain several things to you.
- 1) You seem to hold the common misconception that an article about a person “belongs” in some way to that person. This is false. Articles belong to absolutely no one,
evenespecially the subject of them. If you are Sunday Enefiok Robert, please disclose that on your userpage, as you have a conflict of interest with the subject of your article. - 2) Beginners to Wikipedia really should not be writing articles. It requires a lot of experience; I’ve been here for almost three years, and I haven’t written a single article. (Though I’m not saying you should model your progress after mine; there are some editors who are ready to create a decent article after even 6 months of experience. Question from Shahab871425 on Mahan Air (18:28, 29 July 2026)
[edit]Hello, Here about Mahan Air I can see wrong or confusing information regarding "Dependence on the IRGC" What is your reference for this?
Regards Shahab --Shahab871425 (talk) 18:28, 29 July 2026 (UTC)
- What information specifically are you looking to change and why? Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 03:59, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- I am referring to the sentence stating that "Mahan Air is affiliated with the IRGC." Could you please identify the specific reliable source that supports the use of the word "affiliated"? I would like to understand what published evidence Wikipedia relies on for this wording, as "affiliated" may imply a specific legal or organizational relationship. If the cited sources support a different characterization, I believe the wording should accurately reflect those sources. Shahab871425 (talk) 14:27, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- Nowhere in the article does it specifically say Mahan Air is ‘affiliated with the IRGC’. Do you mean where it says
[Mahan Air is] providing financial, material and technological support to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF). Based in Tehran, Mahan Air provides transportation, funds transfers, and personnel travel services to the IRGC-QF
? 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 18:28, 31 July 2026 (UTC)- In article, It is clearly written that Mahan Air is affiliated with the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in, I'm just looking for wikipedia reference for this, Shahab871425 (talk) 20:32, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, I see that sentence now, if you mean the
Mahan Air is affiliated with the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
in the lede. (I’m not sure why I didn’t look in the lede earlier; that was on me.) - You’re correct, this statement does not have a source, because ledes typically don’t have sources. In light of this, I would advise you not to remove the statement for being unsourced without asking someone more specifically knowledgeable about the article subject or related topics (who may be able to help you find a source if you feel one is required) first.
- Let me know if you have any questions! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 23:03, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- I was working in this company,I'm living in Iran and I know what's going on to the civilian people, any way putting wrong information here as a source can make trouble for civilian people's which are not involved to the things, so seriously I want to request to fix that. How? I dont know! Shahab871425 (talk) 23:39, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ah; if you have previously worked at this company, then you really need to collaborate with someone else on this. You have a financial COI with Mahan Air, meaning you must make an edit request if you wish for something to be changed. You may not edit the article yourself. You can make an edit request (in a specific ‘change X to Y’ format) on the article’s talk page.
- However, it seems you less want to change something and more want to know what the source for the statement is; in that case, you could ask at the Reference Desk, the Teahouse, or a related WikiProject like WikiProject Iran. Someone there probably knows; I don’t personally have a reference to back this up, so you’d be better off asking at one of those links. Only ask at one, though. You can’t post the same question to multiple forums. Hope this helps! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 23:53, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from Sillyratman (05:31, 10 August 2026)
[edit]Wow, you seem so cool! I honestly have no idea how to edit can I just have a basic rundown please? Thank you :)) --Sillyratman (talk) 05:31, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hey, @Sillyratman! It’s pretty simple: you just click Edit and make whatever edit you want to make. There’s copyediting, which is fixing typos in articles; there’s adding information to articles, which you need sources for; you can even participate in WikiProjects, groups of people all focused on improving articles in one specific area. If there’s any specific kind of editing you’re interested in, let me know and I can tell you a bit more about that specific kind of editing. Question from PodcastRiver (05:38, 13 August 2026)
[edit]- Note: PodcastRiver's mentor Cyberdog958 is away.
Hi Shadestar, thanks for being my mentor! I've just submitted an article for creation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Joe_Hudson_(executive_coach)
I tried to follow everything, and declared that this is my employer. Any tips or notes? --PodcastRiver (talk) 05:38, 13 August 2026 (UTC)
- I suggest you follow the sourcing advice in the message the reviewer left.
The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that provide significant coverage: discuss the person in detail, not brief mentions or interviews lacking independent analysis; are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight; are independent: not connected to the person, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content
. - If you cannot find these sources, the subject is not notable and does not qualify for an article currently. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) (any/all) In solidarity. 04:15, 16 August 2026 (UTC)
