Please see WP:GS/AA - topics related to Armenia and Azerbaijan are under an extended confirmed restriction. You are not allowed to edit these topics as you're not an extended confirmed user. HistoryofIran (talk) 19:52, 13 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

While the above notice does not imply fault, in reviewing your recent contributions, it appears that you are currently engaging in WP:GAMEing to circumvent the general sanctions on this topic. In particular, not only have you suddenly changed your pattern of editing to high-speed minor edits, you're editing at a speed where you're making mistakes, adding wikilinks either where they're not appropriate (see MOS:LINK, especially section WP:OL). In only about a minute of looking through your edits, I came across Special:Diff/1305740348, Special:Diff/1305738194, Special:Diff/1305738654, Special:Diff/1305741276, Special:Diff/1305741159, all of which are questionable at best.

Slow down, fix the mistakes you've already made, and learn the ropes of editing on Wikipedia. If you don't stop the WP:GAMEing behavior, you're going to end up banned or blocked indefinitely. I'd recommend reading through the advice at WP:ECREXPLAIN as well. signed, Rosguill talk 21:21, 13 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I see you've decided to ignore my advice, and skimming off the top of your recent edits, the quality of the links you've added seems to have, if anything, dropped (I'm looking at Special:Diff/1305834015, Special:Diff/1305833937, Special:Diff/1305833804, Special:Diff/1305833700). Blocking, I would recommend that your most viable route to being unblocked is to request/accept an indefinite conditional topic ban from Armenia and Azerbaijan topics. signed, Rosguill talk 13:31, 14 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  signed, Rosguill talk 13:32, 14 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Chelsea Flower Show, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chelsea. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
