To quote our policy, that's "a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith." The fact that you're asking here shows you have good faith! I would recommend reading through our policy on COIs, declaring your COI, and then proposing the creation of a new article for your company. You'll find the steps to both those last two action items in the policy. Be sure, too, that before you begin work you have checked our policy on notability for companies and ensured your company meets the thresholds described. Hello @Guneskadir, thanks for reaching out, and I'm happy to hear you're interested in translation--It's an area of Wikipedia that doesn't get enough attention! Translation occurs on the target language's Wikipedia, which is to say that because you want to translate into Turkish, that happens on the Turkish Wikipedia. Because policies vary from language to language, I recommend reading their policy on translation and reaching out to somebody there who knows more about the Turkish side of things (this seems to be the forum to do that). On Wikipedia, we have guidelines on what we put in articles. In that sense, there is information that might seem useful to you that is "wrong" to add to an article. The information you added had several problems, among them the fact that it was unsourced and that it seemed to engage in puffery, that is to say that it promoted specific individuals ("esteemed" ; "highly experienced" ; "dedicated"). For the information you wished to add, a simple sentence about the electrification with a reliable source would have been enough. There is no need to mention specific employees.

A note, in addition to that on your talk page about your username: I have forwarded this account for a sockpuppetry investigation. I apologize, that's not something I want to do as your mentor, but the username coincidence and shared interest in articles suggests to me that you opened this account in order to evade your ban, a use of secondary accounts which is strictly prohibited on Wikipedia. Hey @The Unapologetic Spagetii, thanks for reaching out...That shouldn't be happening! I am no expert on this but my minimal technical expertise suggests to me that one of two things are happening, either (a) there's something wrong with the article itself, something wrong with the rendering of the LaTex/HTML; or (b) there's something "wrong" or unexpected about the device on which you're viewing the article, I could imagine a mobile device causing problems, for instance, or a strange aspect ratio (?) of your browser. If you think it isn't the latter, I've found some pages that might help you problem solve (Help:Displaying a formula; Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Mathematics) but I would suggest you identify particular pages and try to find someone with more expertise than me (I can barely read WikiMarkup, much less LaTex). I am looking to add a link to PCWatchdog.org to the "External links" section of the Pawnee County, Nebraska and Pawnee City, Nebraska pages.

The project serves as a community utility and searchable archive. I believe it adds value based on WP:EL for the following reasons:

• Searchable Archives: The official county site currently lacks a searchable database of board minutes; my site provides this functionality for better verifiability.
• Multimedia Records: I'm working to provide full audio recordings of public meetings which are not currently available on the official government site.
• Updated Information: The official web presence has not seen significant updates since 2018, so I provide this modernized user friendly utility for searching up local representatives and making contact easier.

The site’s legitimacy was recently established by a feature in the Pawnee Republican (the state's oldest continuously published newspaper), which I have cited on my user page.

Because I have a Conflict of Interest as the site's creator, I wanted to propose this here first rather than adding the links myself. I want to ensure these links are viewed as a neutral resource for the community rather than self-promotion. This seems like a pretty niche case, so I don't think you're going to get a rule quoted at you that says this can't be added, but you might still have dissenting opinions. Please note that on Wikipedia we use inline citations for specific claims instead of a list of sources. It will be useful if you could identify which source is used to substantiate each particular claim using the built-in reference system. I suggest that you also look through our policy on reliable sources for which kinds of sources are acceptable for use on Wikipedia.

I work for the communications agency THREESIXTY, and we represent Debenhams Group. I have already placed my mandatory paid editing disclosure on my user page in line with WP:PAID. The current Debenhams Group article is heavily outdated. For example, it still lists Carol Kane as the Chief Executive in the text, whereas Dan Finley was appointed as Group CEO back on 1 November 2024. Because of my COI, can I edit the article directly? The primary problem with the article you linked is the one stated on the top: referencing issues. The DVD, Awards, and Synopsis sections are entirely unsourced. The first two sentences of the production section are unsourced, too. (The lead doesn't need references, as you may know.) The sources that are used seem to be of a decent quality, even a couple books which is rare for this kind of article.

I'm no expert on images on Wikipedia— I would suggest asking at the Teahouse where you'll find someone with the requisite knowledge.

Thanks for pointing me to the Teahouse. As far as the sourcing goes, I did pick up that a claim cited further down doesn't need a citation in the lead. The DVD information is where I hit a dead end. The best I could find was a source stating that the remake was out of print while the original remained in circulation on streaming, DVD, and in fan uploads on YouTube. I might have to clean house.

You mentioned the synopsis section. I don't think synopses need citations, do they? It mostly seems to be a matter of preference on how much detail to include. Cedarshadow (talk) 02:56, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

Hah! I'm happy to learn together. There is evidence in the secondary sources of rights issues with the music. It's pretty thin and I don't want to WP:SYNTH the DVD claim. Just to follow up: The teahouse says one fair use image per article. It was a bit condescending to be told the image belongs to someone else in a space for newcomers. @Cedarshadow, I'm sorry to hear that. We do ask all our editors to be friendly and not to bite, so it's disappointing that some of our pointpeople for newcomer queries were a little short with you. In fairness, they surely go through many questions per day and, having been on Wikipedia for several years, are liable to assuming people know much more about Wikipedia's policies than is the case.

Hey @ThineCyberCat, thanks for your questions. I'm doing well; I hope you are, too.

Fandom, which I assume you're alluding to, was founded by the same guy as Wikipedia and also shares Wikitext, the markup language, so the "technical editing" as you refer to it should be similar if not identical. I don't have much experience on Fandom. In my experience, though, we do have more binding policies, particularly around notability, verifiability, and our Manual of Style. I recommend you skim through these policies before you get too deep into editing. You may also find this essay useful in gauging tone, but really the best way to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's tone is to just read a bunch of articles!

Editing wars can definitely occur, but they are strictly restricted on Wikipedia (through the three revert rule; see previous link), allowing participating parties to be sanctioned and thus putting a stop to them. Sometimes, of course, they go unreported or under the radar, in which case it's everyone's responsibility to take action if they encounter it.

There are some subjects more prone to edit warring (and other disruptive editing) than others, and they often receive additional restrictions or contentious topics status.

Add the new category Rankings and Recognition

Also I want to add 2 wikis in the Academics section: Engineers Australia, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - Wikipedia

Hello @DnieperSniper, thank you for reaching out. I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this question. Our policy on notability states that:

Notability is a property of a subject and not of a Wikipedia article. If the topic has not been covered outside of Wikipedia, no amount of improvement to the Wikipedia content will suddenly make the topic notable.

Looking specifically to the notability guideline for geographic features under "engineered constructs" :

Buildings, including private residences, transportation facilities and commercial developments, may be notable as a result of their historic, social, economic, or architectural importance, but they require significant in-depth coverage by reliable, third-party sources to establish notability.

So if you can find "in-depth coverage by reliable, third-party sources" of this roadblock then you can establish notability. I suggest reading through the above-linked policies to understand what some of these terms mean. A quick Google search on my part, though, suggests you might find it hard relying only on online English sources. Perhaps there are some Italian, Austrian, or Hungarian sources that could do the trick? Or a book? You would know best.
