Puzzling closure

Heya, in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Executive order (United States) you said [...] I don't see an overall agreement, except to say there is not a consensus to delete the article, so any further action can happen outside of the scope of an AfD (emphasis in original). I don't understand what this means: the article was never proposed for deletion and nobody brought it up, so one could say there definitely is consensus that the article shouldn't be outright deleted. But what does it mean that "any further action" can happen outside AfD? Formally proposing a merge must be done at AfD, and it would be unwise to perform the merge following a no consensus closure. You don't need an AfD to propose a merge. You can simply be bold and do it, or start a discussion on the talk page - any editor can revert it if they object without requiring administrative action (unlike, say, deletion). The point I was making wasn't really about finding fault with anything you (or anyone else) had done. Rather, I was just remarking that a lot of these discussions seemed to be just giant time sinks for everybody, with nobody agreeing, and patience getting frayed around the edges. Sometimes, when a discussion doesn't go your way (and this happens to me too - eg: here or here), you just have to accept it and find something else to do. That's fair. I mentioned it both because I've seen a number of comments directed at me and because at least once I was warned for a gun related comment that was seen as BATTLEGROUND. I have some questions about removals today.

I put citations up on a page that has the flag about missing citations ("this section of a biography of a living person does not include any references or sources,...") Can you please tell me if I can remove the box and if so, how can I do that?

And...when I started watching The Pitt, I saw that one of the actors didn't have a Wikipedia article, so I began building it. Then I got distracted by life and when I returned to the article, I saw it had been created already. Can you advise as to how I can remove it from my sandbox?

I've done a bit of copyediting on the article, but those citation requests look like they've all been resolved, so well done for that. It's particularly important on a biography of a living person that all material is accurately referenced and can be verified as being correct. Ritchie333 ^{(talk) (cont)} 10:36, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

The easiest way is to open the text in the source editor, select all of it (CTRL+A will do this in a desktop, for mobile and tablet it's a bit more awkward) then delete it. Would you expect to pay a plumber to fix a leak in your bathroom if they didn't have extensive knowledge of plumbing and tools?

Would you expect to pay a builder to fix a leak on your roof if they didn't have experience, good client recommendations and a thorough knowledge of health and safety.

So why would your client expect to pay you when you don't have extensive knowledge of how to write biographies on Wikipedia.

If there are specific issues remaining with sourcing, notability, or neutrality, I'd genuinely welcome that feedback — that's the reason I submitted for review. If you could point to particular sections or citations that still need work, I'm happy to address them.

Having had a look at the sources, they all seem to be about Yungblud rather than his manager, Tommas Arnby. Music Business Worldwide and MusicWeek are okay to use as sources, as they are independently written and make a deliberate choice about what they choose to write about without influence from anyone else. I think your best course of action is to mention Arnby in Yungblud's article, at which point Tommas Arnby can be a WP:REDIRECT there. Because you have a financial conflict of interest, you cannot do this directly, you can only make suggestions on the talk page.

I apologise if I came across as aggressive; I'm simply stating the problems you are likely to face dealing with editors - people don't like people profiting for things they do for no financial rewards at all. Ritchie333 ^{(talk) (cont)} 09:01, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Hello. Thanks for taking the time to explain this, and no worries at all. I completely understand where you’re coming from.

Just to clarify, I’m Tommas Arnby’s full time Executive Assistant rather than someone he has engaged specifically to create or promote a Wikipedia page for him. This is simply a small task that his team had already been working on prior to my joining, and I’ve been helping to pick it up and understand the appropriate process.

If you don’t mind, could you advise me on the best way to proceed from here? I want to make sure I’m following Wikipedia’s guidelines correctly and not creating any issues for the existing Yungblud article or its editors. If there are specific suggestions I should make on the talk page, or if there’s anything else you’d recommend the team do instead, I’d really appreciate your guidance.
