AFC follow up
[edit]Today (June 14), you declined my AFC request as "not meeting minimum criteria". In ~5 minutes, my main account (confirm on Special:Contributions/Wikipedian12512) will turn 90 days old. In solidarityWikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 23:57, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

PrimeBOT issue in task 49
[edit]Some of the fixes for hard-coded space + space are not the best, e.g. the change made here, where it's the ordinary space that should be removed, not the . The sequence "single capital + stop + two spaces + word" is likely to be a misformatting of an abbreviated binomial. Peter coxhead (talk) 06:32, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, to have this advice a week ago! At the BRFA we discussed possible false positives and the only thing that was determined is that it might not be an ideal solution but it was better than having the double space issue. I didn't even think about your solution, which probably would have caught these edge cases. The task is completed now, though, so unfortunately I won't be able to put this into use. Primefac (talk) 08:42, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Song link (redirect)
[edit]Hi Prime, was wondering if you can look at this non-linked album track song title "U + Me = <3", on You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love by Olivia Rodrigo. Tried creating a redirect to the album, but it shows up plain → "[[U + Me = <3]]". Maybe you can create a song redirect for this, or something, I don't know. Either way, thanks! Best, --Discographer (talk) 21:06, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
<cannot be used (it's a technical restriction). The super-reliable Fandom page for the song gives "the pronunciation" as "You Plus Me Equals a Heart". Not 100% sure we need a redirect but if it's deemed necessary I could possibly see the page calledU + Me = 3(though I'm not sure {{Correct title}} should be placed on redirects). Primefac (talk) 21:41, 17 June 2026 (UTC)- Okay, I'll just leave this alone then. Thanks anyway. Best, --Discographer (talk) 21:51, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
Sandbox AFC reviews
[edit]Hi, Primefac. I recently notice few AfC submissions waiting for review in userspace sandboxes rather than in draftspace (e.g. Draft:Peter Iku Dolo), so I moved some of them to draftspace. But i've also seen some reviewers decline submissions while they remain in userspace.
Just wondering should submitted AfC pages generally be moved to draftspace before review? And if so, is it okay for the editor who moved the page to review it as well? Thanks. Khagendra (talk) 21:36, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Generally speaking, yes, we prefer to have drafts in the draft space (this is really more for housekeeping than anything). That being said, it is not a requirement, so there's nothing wrong with leaving a draft in the user space and reviewing it there. There's nothing wrong with moving a page to the draft space and then reviewing it, since both actions are being taken as a reviewer. Primefac (talk) 08:40, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thank You so much that clears my doubt . Khagendra (talk) 08:58, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Botched edit at ill template
[edit]Hi. You left a botched edit in your edit of the protected template:Interlanguage link: affecting the inline display of thousands of links. Could you fix it ASAP? Thanks--Asqueladd (talk) 11:56, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

copyvio
[edit]Hi Primefac , could you please check if Draft:John Klingberg is a copyvio. Khagendra (talk) 20:48, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- Doesn't appear to be. Definitely a weird case, though; the wikitia page says it's copied from enWiki but the enWiki page was created after the wikitia page... definitely some reverse copyvios going on somewhere... Primefac (talk) 21:37, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
If you are willing, would LOVE your assistance with Category:Pages using infobox sportsperson with deprecated parameters (0). Still populating, but obviously large enough that you can start in on it whenever you have the time. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 04:11, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sure, could you get Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Rename_template_parameters#Infobox_sportsperson updated please? Primefac (talk) 09:00, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
Template:Notable foreigners who visited Sri Lanka
[edit]Hello, recently you deleted the Template:Notable foreigners who visited Sri Lanka. Would you be able to move it to my user space here: User:Blackknight12/Template:Notable foreigners who visited Sri Lanka instead please? Blackknight12 (talk) 10:39, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sure. Primefac (talk) 10:41, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
When the draft is eventually deleted, won't the attribution be moot? The attribution says "see that page's history for attribution". WP:RUD "If an article is deleted, its history is removed and thus its content cannot be reused on Wikipedia" RachelTensions (talk) 11:26, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- Why would the draft be deleted? Draft:Heeseung has been tagged with the appropriate rcats to indicate that the history should be preserved. Primefac (talk) 11:36, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- Ah that solves it, I was thinking drafts were deleted after 6 months but didn't clue in that the redirect would be retained. Thanks RachelTensions (talk) 11:48, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- Aye, no worries, and yes it's only abandoned drafts (not redirects) that are deleted. Primefac (talk) 11:54, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

Double checking
[edit]Since I am not sure what might have been deleted, just wanted to make sure we are not confusing Baegunsan (Uiwang and Suwon) with Baegunsan (Gangwon and Gyeonggi) From what I can see via logs and iwikis, I think you fixed it, but the fact that the Korean wiki doesn't seem to have GPS coordinates for the latter is less then ideal, sigh. Thanks for looking into this mess. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 12:08, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- PS. Baegunsan (South Gyeongsang and North Jeolla) does not have ko iwiki, GPS coordinates. Hmmm. The province does match the last entry (no article) in Korean disambig at ko:백운산.
- Sigh Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 12:11, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sounds like some more research is needed! Primefac (talk) 12:13, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)Pretty sure I got the right target; I went to move Baegunsan(Gyeonggi) to Baegunsan (Gyeonggi), saw it was a redirect to Baegunsan (Uiwang and Suwon) from an old move, and made sure that was indeed the right place to put it before swapping the various pages around. Happy to help. Primefac (talk) 12:13, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
Talk:Igbo regalia and headdresses
[edit]Hello Primefac I'd really appreciate some help with a situation on the Talk:Igbo regalia and headdresses page. I've tried to defuse the situation, but I'm afraid of making it worse. Any advice would be much appreciated. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 08:47, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Any thread in particular in which you are concerned? Primefac (talk) 08:51, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry: if you look at the Talk page, there is an ongoing (very lengthy and somewhat confusing) discussion between the page creator and another editor (both seem new editors), which began on my own Talk page when I was challenged about having okayed the page as part of the AfC process. There seems to be a lot of acrimony, pushing of POV, with some ownership issues. I'm not sure what to do for the best. I thought we had reached a point where both editors agreed yesterday, but that has now all been overwritten. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 11:31, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, I see the issue now (I didn't want to get heavily into any one section in case there was something specific) but you're right in that it's the entire talk page. It's rather difficult to tell but I'm pretty sure there's some edit warring going on. I'll have a think about the best way to proceed but based on the interactions of the previous few days I suspect that partial blocks may be needed just to stop the back-and-forth on the article itself until some semblance of consensus can be found (which will likely require multiple outside editors getting in their opinions as well, while managing the HUGE replies from these two editors). Primefac (talk) 14:44, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. I did think that at one point we had a consensus, but I see now that there are two very different POVs, and possibly related problems across similar articles. In any case, your advice is much appreciated. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 21:36, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Bot run...
[edit]You got a problem... Category:Articles using duplicate arguments in template calls (18). BLOWING up with duplicates of |education=... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 14:46, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- The hell... I specifically waited until Category:Pages using infobox sportsperson with conflicting parameters was empty... (which it still is?) Primefac (talk) 14:48, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- The conflicting check is not looking at blank params... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 14:49, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Of course not... because why ignore blank parameters by default on this module when every other one (deprecated params, uknown params, etc) checks blanks by default. And people wonder why folk like you and me are so keen on template standardisation... It's probably from the
|alma_mater=swap. I'll see about dropping any blank|education=params to deal with it. Primefac (talk) 14:57, 29 June 2026 (UTC)- It is complicated because using both
|height_m=and|height_ft=(for example) with one of them being blank is ok... But yea... This shit is a cluster$%^k to be sure. Appreciate your work!!! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 14:59, 29 June 2026 (UTC)- Thanks for keeping an eye out. I've started cleaning up the duplicate
|education=mess, fortunately only ~1500 pages. Primefac (talk) 15:01, 29 June 2026 (UTC)- Of course! I have a template I use (User:Zackmann08/cc) that is a fork of {{clc}}. Will turn red if the category is not empty. Helps me keep an eye on these categories. You may find it helpful? Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 15:03, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Interesting idea with the colour changes, for the list on my userpage I just check the numbers themselves. Will probably need to add the duplicate arguments check to my list though given this seems to keep happening. Primefac (talk) 15:21, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- It just helps grab my attention. Also got a custom module to check dozens of unknown parameter categories. In any case, this shit happens. What matters, and why I SO appreciate you as an editor, is how you respond when these rare mistakes happen. You always own them and immediately jump on fixing them which is what matters. Keep up the good work. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 15:28, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Tables to transclusions
[edit]Hi - I am not sure how these work, but can you please look at Associate international cricket in 2026 and fi teh America qualifier which is now showing full score details from a section of 2026 Men's T20 World Cup Americas Sub-regional Qualifier A plus reference list and templates etc. I have tried to adjsut the section it is pointing to and this has removed the unwanted content, but now no table displays Bs1jac (talk) 11:36, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry fixed it. Realised that the section tags added in the original article were mismatched (the start and end tage had different IDs), and I have fixed that. Now displays fine. Bs1jac (talk) 11:42, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, my apologies, I was starting to get a bit cross-eyed towards the end of that all and thought that I had potentially messed something up, but didn't see anything obvious, though it is definitely my fault for not checking the page after I was finished. Thanks for sorting it out! Primefac (talk) 11:46, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

Module:Params subpages CSD tagged
[edit]Most of Category:Candidates for technical speedy deletion is currently doc subpages of Module:Params. I'm unsure if they're safe to delete - in particular, do you know if all the cleanup mentioned at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2026_June_24#Module:Params has been complete? I'm not familiar enough with the TfD process to proceed confidently here. Rusalkii (talk) 21:26, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- It looks like folk are satisfied enough with the conversion process to ignore the remaining user invocations, which is unusual but for something this... weird... I suppose it works. The talk page discussion got shifted to another location so I'd say this is fine to nuke (which I've done now). Thanks for the note. Primefac (talk) 05:22, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

Not ignoring, been busy, will respond hopefully tomorrow? Primefac (talk) 08:47, 10 July 2026 (UTC)- Recognising the exemption stated, the list collapse is done using an approved collapse template and does not violate any of the ACCESS guidelines as far as I am aware. Personally I see this just as much of an access (lowercase) issue as it is an ACCESS issue, in that having the template with all parameters shown essentially three times on the page uncollapsed makes those sections gigantic, and therefore makes it a lot more onerous to get to the useful information if one isn't directly going to a section via the TOC.
- I guess my point is that the primary purpose of ACCESS is for articles, and if we use care there should be no issues with making adjustments that might be on the borderline of it if there are valid reasons and it is done in a thought-out manner. Happy to discuss further with you though. Primefac (talk) 09:27, 11 July 2026 (UTC)

AfC and changes since I've been gone.
[edit]Hey Prime, been a minute since I've done AfC. I'm re-reviewing notability/policy guidelines as I go to get caught up with any changes. The one big change since I was last reviewing is the rise of LLMs. Is there as set SOP/tool for how editors should review for LLM written articles? Or is it more of a sniff test and utilize third-party utilities type of thing?
Also, any other major changes you can think of that I might miss in terms of AfC stuff, please feel free to let me know. Sulfurboy (talk) 21:04, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Heya, apologies for totally missing this post for so long. I don't think we necessarily have any tools (I've seen various comments about how LLM trackers are almost as hallucinogenic as the LLMs themselves) but I did just find Wikipedia:WikiProject AI Cleanup/Guide which might be a good place to start. Can't think of anything else major that has changed (though we do have some new decline reasons) but as always if you have any questions you're always welcome to ask here or at WT:AFC. Primefac (talk) 23:03, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- No worries on the delayed response. I've quickly figured out that people utilizing LLMs for the most part aren't being sly about it at all and they stick out like a sore thumb. Sulfurboy (talk) 02:28, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
- That does seem to be the case! Primefac (talk) 09:57, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

- The latter got hard-coded into the former, I believe around the time people wanted the RfAs to auto-close. Thanks for the reminder, it seems I forgot to do so back then. Primefac (talk) 08:48, 13 July 2026 (UTC)
Tributaries
[edit]regarding Ton (river), Širvinta (Šešupė), unless I do not understand the word tributary correctly, I hink you added wrong categories: Širvinta (Šešupė) is tributary of Šešupė, not Neman. It does belong to Neman river basin. Please explain. --Altenmann >talk 13:36, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- It's possible, I'm adding the categories based on the transcluded template, so if it's the wrong template and/or the template is using the wrong category, it'll do that. I'll see about cleaning those up in a minute. Primefac (talk) 13:37, 18 July 2026 (UTC)

I have to manually scroll down from 2013 all the way to 2026. I appreciate the banners on the way down but it takes a few minutes. As usual, Thanks for your help! Buster Seven Talk (UTC) 13:50, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- I'll play around with the banners, might have to split some of the 2010s into its own page (we might be reaching the end of the transclusion limit for the page). Primefac (talk) 13:57, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]Can you please remove the semi-protected tag from here Template:Football in Romania. It's been semi-protected since 19 January 2018. There is some duplicated stuff on there that needs to be updated, Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-40573-26 (talk) 04:24, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- Doesn't seem to be used on a ton of pages; I'll consider it. Primefac (talk) 22:47, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
Articles for creation question
[edit]Hello Primefac! I noticed you cited my declined drafts as a reason for me to not be a reviewer for articles for creation. I had some misconceptions about what constitutes an article for creation when I was a more inexperienced editor, but I am willing to gain experience now. I am now participating in AFDs and I am writing drafts that will most likely be accepted. Would my prior declined drafts still disqualify me after I complete this? Entychologist (talk) 20:00, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
- Generally speaking, if I decline an AFCH request for a specific reason, if the user re-applies I will generally look at what has happened since the previous decline; it will still inform my decision, but if anything making improvements in your editing and getting more experience will reflect that much better. Primefac (talk) 22:45, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! Entychologist (talk) 21:54, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
Typo?
[edit]Looks like there may have been a typo in your recent bot run on Template:Infobox climber: Category:Pages using infobox climber with unknown parameters (2). |highes_redpoint= is missing the t. Any chance you can do a quick run to fix that on these 264 pages? Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 16:22, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- I mean, it was your typo, but yes I can fix it ;-) Primefac (talk) 19:14, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
Facepalm Well... When you put it like that.... Egg on my face. Thanks! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:29, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
Errors with Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth etc.
[edit]Hi, have you considered doing this? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:24, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- Huh... nope. Thanks! Primefac (talk) 19:33, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
AWB cleanups
[edit]With Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Rename template parameters... Is there a way to do regular expressions? I'm looking at {{Infobox field hockey player}} where there are a ton of deprecations of the form: | _regexp1 = youthyears(%d) = youth_years%1. Would like not to have to code them ALL if I can avoid it... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 05:49, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
- I would be surprised if it did, but I don't know; you'd have to ask at WT:AWB. Primefac (talk) 09:46, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
PrimeBOT request
[edit]Hey Primefac, not sure if you saw the discussion here, but it sounds like PrimeBOT could be useful for updating deprecated infobox parameters. I'm a complete novice when it comes to requesting bot tasks, so I'm not sure if you have a formal request process or something like that. Either way, let me know if there's anything I can do to be helpful! Woko Sapien (talk) 18:22, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- I haven't seen that exact discussion, but I've been party to a few similar discussions about the matter. It's going to take me a bit to get it going, but it will get going eventually. Primefac (talk) 21:24, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
- Sounds good, much appreciated! Woko Sapien (talk) 14:19, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
AWB question
[edit]I use JWB not AWB so I wanted to check with you on this one... regarding Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Rename template parameters... would adding {{clc|Pages using Infobox NAME with deprecated parameters}} under each h3 heading to show how many pages still need to be done, break the way that page is used by AWB? Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 04:01, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- I don't think so, but at the same time they've had PEIS issues with the page so it might not be the best of ideas to put a expensive call like that dozens of times. Primefac (talk) 09:48, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- Gotcha. I'll skip for now. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:09, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
Pings
[edit]Sorry for the multiple edit summary pings, but wanted to make sure you saw the errors... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 02:21, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- Shows me trying to be clever... rushed the regex because I was in the middle of the religious building run when an unrelated issue was brought up, didn't think about cases like that. Apologies. Primefac (talk) 08:49, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- No apology needed. If I had a nickel for every regex I've screwed up... Just wanted to make sure you were aware of the issue! Happy Friday. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 12:56, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- FYI started the process on Infobox settlement. When you get around to starting that bot run (which will take some serious time...) Please independently verify that the list I made at Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Rename_template_parameters#Infobox_settlement is correct. I checked it twice, but I would hate for you to do a bot run only to realize that I missed 1 param in the list.... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 04:01, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
- Copy that. Primefac (talk) 09:50, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your TfD closure!
[edit]| I hope you like pie! Thank you so much for your well-assessed and well-worded closure of the TfD regarding the Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic templates. DonIago (talk) 01:18, 2 August 2026 (UTC) |
- Thanks. What a doozy... haven't closed something like that in quite a while! Primefac (talk) 18:17, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- I don't know whether there's a way to not have the TfD notices appear everywhere a template that's up for discussion is being used (and maybe there shouldn't be a way to disable that notification), but I don't think anyone will deny that it attracted a lot of attention to the TfD. Unfortunately, I'll maintain until the end of time that a lot of that attention came from people who didn't read or didn't understand the concerns in play at the TfD, which made it a lot thornier than it might have been otherwise. TfD closure
[edit]Hi Primefac — thanks for your closure at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2026_June_18#Rotten_Tomatoes_and_Metacritic_film_prose. While I agree that overall there is no consensus regarding the template, I was surprised to see that you identified a consensus to make the template subst-only, because several editors (including myself) argued strenuously against a substitution requirement, and those arguments were not meaningfully/convincingly rebutted. In discussing substitution specifically, your closing statement references a reasonable number
of !votes but does not quantify any data, and ignores entirely the argumentation aspect.
I am inclined to challenge this closure and seek further consensus about the substitution question specifically, but before doing so I would appreciate any further information you could provide on how you evaluated this in your close. Sdkb talk 06:06, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the follow-up. I've expanded on my close; it is not so much that there was a straight-up consensus to make it a subst-only template, but rather that there is no consensus to "do nothing" (for lack of a better term) and subst-only is a viable option that isn't moving the needle entirely to "delete". I meant to add something like that at the time but I was having trouble coming up with something succinct as a "final statement".
- Regarding rebuttal of your concerns, I would note that your edit came almost three weeks after the initial discussion had opened (60th out of ~85 !votes), and well after most of those refuting editors had either stopped replying or were warned against bludgeoning. Comments regarding substitution that refute claims similar to yours had already been made, so I considered all of the pro- and con- statements together rather than as individual "statement/rebuttal" groupings.
- You are of course welcome to take this to DRV, as is your prerogative; a ping should be sufficient to get my attention if you decide to go that route. Primefac (talk) 12:09, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- I would also ask to be pinged if this goes to DRV or otherwise is formally challenged, thank you. DonIago (talk) 03:13, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- Am I missing something, or has this editor undone the Tfd resolution and then taken no further steps towards a challenge? That can’t be on, surely? MapReader (talk) 13:32, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- I was going to give it a couple more days before nudging this again, as I see Sdkb has made a handful of edits, but not many, since bringing up their concerns here. I added the substitution notice to the templates and set it to auto; Sdkb turned off the auto-substitution but did leave the notice in place, so I wouldn't say they've undone the resolution at this time; just paused the auto-substitution. I didn't have much of an issue with that, since for all I knew someone else was planning to challenge the closure. DonIago (talk) 13:43, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Simply slapping the auto-subst is something I probably would have reverted had I seen it; there were valid concerns raised by both sides, in particular about some parameters that should be removed before the text is subst onto the page. Primefac (talk) 21:10, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- I guess then, while I understand on a theoretical level what your closure meant for the future of the templates, I'm confused as to how it should be implemented beyond adding the note. I'm happy to defer to others on that part, and just substitute the templates if/when I see them in use (i.e. I won't make a point of going looking for them). DonIago (talk) 03:29, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- I honestly haven't given it much thought this week. It will get done, and there's no particular rush. Primefac (talk) 08:33, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the patience, Donlago and all. I've had a busy week but can commit to following up this weekend. Sdkb talk 12:45, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding the addendum to your close, @Primefac. Your note that
it is not so much that there was a straight-up consensus to make it a subst-only template, but rather that there is no consensus to "do nothing"
gives me a better understanding of your close as a kind of bartender's close. I still would have closed it as no consensus overall — your close notes thatthose wishing to create an exception [to TMPG] need to justify it
, and in my view the keep !voters convincingly did so by noting that TMPG explains the purpose behind the rule (as this makes it more difficult to edit the content
) and that this purpose does not apply to text that does not need to be changed. Nevertheless, I think our readings are closely aligned enough that I'm not inclined to dispute the close at DRV. Rather, given your note above about disagreements around the parameters, the next step seems to be to have a follow-up discussion about the conditions/approaches that make sense for substitution. I'll plan to open that in the next few days; feel free to let me know if you have any input. Cheers, Sdkb talk 05:22, 10 August 2026 (UTC)- I also suggest that your "text that does not need to be changed" is a value judgement, rather than a statement of fact. While you might argue that's true for RT's review summaries, since these are direct quotes and can hardly be edited, the sometimes-trite and sometimes-inaccurate Metacritic score summaries are contestable, and other editors are entitled to contest them even if your opinion is that no change is needed. - In my view, the closer did very well to steer through an extended and often ill-focused debate; it is never, of course, a simple vote, and if you disregard all the ‘keep’ posts that appeared merely to like seeing RT and MC data in film and tv articles - which missed the point of the proposal entirely - judging strictly on policy grounds, these templates should have been deleted (and replaced with ones simply inserting the numerical RT and MC scores only). As such, the closer’s outcome represents a reasonable compromise, if one that will likely lead to further proposals for change going forward. MapReader (talk) 13:36, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]Hello, Primefac,
I was in the process of restoring some redirects that I accidentally deleted and it looks like you got to some before I do. I'm not sure what tools you use because I was trying to work at this very quickly. I was deleting a page and mistakenly used Batch deletion which deleted every page that was linked to the one page I was legitimately trying to delete. I was trying to fix this before it was noticed but you came to my aid and I think, at the least, you should get an apology and thanks. I'll review the deletion log and make sure everything is right back where it should be. Thanks again. Liz Read! Talk! 21:42, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- I made a list of the affected pages from the deletion log, copied it to a sandbox and used un-dbatch on it. Seemed easier than manually undeleting the other pages (which is why I jumped in to help out, since that's what it looked like you were doing). Primefac (talk) 21:46, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
