Question from PossiblyAPossum (06:30, 16 July 2026)
[edit]Hello! You were assigned as my mentor for making an account! You can call me Poss :)
I do have a question for properly fixing, and citing if necessary, an article that has been bothering me for months, and is the reason for me making an account. It's kind of niche, but on the Sea Scout (Scouting America) page, the image for rank insignia is out of date.
How do I properly add the image from the publicly available Sea Scout Handbook to the article? The specific creator of the graphic is not listed, but out of the potential people credited at the end of the manual that could have made it, I know and can contact them all easily, if need be. Do I need to do that for formal permission to use the image? The image can be found here on the 2025 edition manual, page 303 https://seascout.org/manual-resource-center/ and I intend to replace the Sea Scout Ranks image in the article with the updated one that uses the blue Quartermaster patch.
I'm incredibly sorry if any of this is confusingly worded. This has been bothering me for ages now. --PossiblyAPossum (talk) 06:30, 16 July 2026 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive
[edit]
Hello LunaEclipse:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
