Question from GhostOrbit (14:28, 7 April 2026)

[edit]

Hi, I see you were assigned as a mentor. Thank you I'm new here, Getting into the finance world and doin a lot of research on funds and VCs to understand the bigger picture, and noticed taht that area is fairly underdeveloped on Wikipedia and I had to spend a lot of time researching stuff so I started enriching the pages I found didn't have the info I needed and I had to look else where. I ran into some trouble with a page for Viola. I accidentally republished a page that was deleted. I was told there needs to be extermal sources, not just the company page a s a refenrece. - Here is the thread https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_talk:Viola_Group#c-ONUnicorn-20260326185100-GhostOrbit-20260326170600 - They said in a nutshell, my sources should be publications etc, the reason being if its not important enough for others to write about it, its A7 not important enough for wikipedia. This makes sense to me. if there is no press, who cares ( in these type of cases. Obviously science stuff is different) I had a question regarding that. Say there are a lot of other wikipedia pages referring to something, would that deem it important enough to create a page on? An example would be if tehre are 30 tech companies listing Viola as their first investment, would all 30 of those pages linking back to the viola page deem it Important enough to be created?

Thank you --GhostOrbit (talk) 14:28, 7 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes; if a lot of Wikipedia pages link to Viola Group, that could indicate the subject's notability. Red links that don't go anywhere (looking like this) are a way to show other editors and readers that the subject should have an article. Cheers :-) LR.127 (talk) 14:36, 7 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello I want article suggestions to edit --Pratagonist (talk) 20:05, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Task Center is a good place to find easy edits, and Wikipedians get together to edit an article every week at Wikipedia:Articles for improvement - this week, you can edit Saucer and get quick feedback. LR.127 (talk) 20:19, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Sportfan78 on Sri Lanka Cricket (20:05, 29 April 2026)

[edit]

I'm trying to edit this page and how do I add another template for me to mention shammi Silva was also on a term from 2025—2026 after the 2023—2025 term template for the mentioned person --Sportfan78 (talk) 20:05, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I've added lines in the same template to Shammi Silva to show their second term. You'll have to fill in some information based on the sources that are coming out.
When you're ready, remove the {{Current sport-related}} template at the top of the page. Cheers :-). LR.127 (talk) 20:40, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question from Sportfan78 (07:08, 30 April 2026)

[edit]

Where was that thing you were talking about on Shammi Silva's Page --Sportfan78 (talk) 07:08, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

On the template on the right, you can edit certain lines in Shammi Silva's infobox.
The {{Current sport-related}} template is at the top in a blue box, and can be removed after you finish your edits.
