Hi Ninja , How you doing? i have just started using Wikipedia please help me to improve how can i upload pictures and how i can find article related links on internet --Ranacanada (talk) 16:09, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ranacanada welcome! If you want to find sources on the internet then a Google search is the easiest way. I recommend that you click the learn how to edit button in the main menu on the left and read about what reliable sources are at WP:RS. If you want to add images you can link from or upload a file in the main menu. Fieryninja (talk) 17:01, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Fieryninja I think all of your GAN before, Kristoff (Frozen) was a waste. I don't think it requires a lot of work in order for it to be GA. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 10:34, 1 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hey Boneless Pizza! yeah it probably is a waste. I doubt anyone else will work on it. I didnt really read through the GAR comments properly. I missed the review as it had been hanging around for ages. Then when I came back to it, it seemed like a lot of work. Maybe I will have another look if you think it can be done? 1984 removed edit:

[edit]

Hi, yesterday you removed my edit on the book 1984 where I re-wrote the part where the book is explained saying it's (and I'm paraphrasing) "more words but the same thing". The reason I corrected that portion was due to the overuse of 'He' in that paragraph -used to refer to Winston- and I believe my edit made the whole sentence more readable. Please help me understand why you took your decision. Thank you. Nerd-Nificent (talk) 17:34, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nerd-Nificent I've looked at it again and I stand by my revert because the previous version was more succinct. We generally try to keep the plot short so the fewer words the better. There was also a past tense word added whereas the plot should be written in the present tense. I hope that helps to clarify. All the best. Fieryninja (talk) 20:55, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Question from RareInformationEnjoyer (17:58, 14 February 2026)

[edit]

Hi,

I noticed on the Munich Security Conference page under 'Criticism' the source citing is misplaced and citation 135 has no relevance to the content. It seems that the content there is based solely off of citation 136. Would it make sense to remove 135 entirely? --RareInformationEnjoyer (talk) 17:58, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi RareInformationEnjoyer welcome to Wikipedia! If you think the citation is redundant then it's fine to remove it. Just make sure that you explain why you are removing it in your edit summary. Happy editing! Fieryninja (talk) 21:07, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Vecna is more of the main antagonists.

[edit]

Vecna is more one of the main antagonists than main antagonists because Vecna can share the main antagonist role with Mind Flayer and Martin Brenner since Mind Flayer did corrupt Vecna by forcing him to do the drawing and brainwashed him temporarily (without Mind Flayer Vecna wouldn’t cause the events) and Martin Brenner could be the closest thing to be Eleven’s archenemy due to him knowing and torturing Eleven way longer than Vecna and Mind Flayer, Martin Brenner made Vecna’s villainy even worse by torturing Vecna and Martin Brenner’s 18 or 19 episode appearances are normal for a Big Bad since he has more screen time and more appearances than Vecna. ~2026-15604-63 (talk) 09:13, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks it seems that this is open to personal interpretation which qualifies as WP:OR. Original research is not permitted on Wikipedia, so you would need some reliable sources, such as interviews with the Duffer Brothers. At the moment we only have one Stranger Things antagonist that proves notable enough to have a Wikipedia page, and that's Vecna. Fieryninja (talk) 13:15, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Lloyd Garmadon.png

[edit]
Notice

The file File:Lloyd Garmadon.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

'Replaceable' with a free depiction. All we need is for a photographer to own something like the NJO0474 to take some high-quality photographs of it. I have done so with other minifigures before.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the file at any time. Nutella lover[ chatsupervise ] 10:07, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Vecna being the main antagonist

[edit]

If Vecna is the main antagonist wouldn’t that make Martin Brenner and Mind Flayer the two ultimate antagonists (ultimate antagonist is something that’s between main antagonist and overarching antagonist)? ~2026-15604-63 (talk) 19:27, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but I have no idea what these terms mean. They are not mentioned on the antagonist Wikipedia page. These sound like something you would use on Fandom. Fieryninja (talk) 19:49, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

The Minions article is much cleaner and better now thanks for your efforts. I'd be interested in doing a followup for my newsletter about the changes made to it and the process and approach you used. Would you have any interest? Thank you! Dflovett (talk) 21:40, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dflovett sorry for my late reply. I'm happy to answer any questions you have regarding the Minions article. (I actually came across your article when I was doing my research)! I will be away from WP for a couple of weeks but if you want to send me anything by Wednesday, I will respond. Fieryninja (talk) 07:43, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nice to hear from you @Fieryninja! I'm glad you read what I wrote originally. I think a followup would be fun so I'm glad you're open to talking. There's also no urgency on this. But here are some questions:
  1. What inspired you to edit Minions (Despicable Me) ? Are you a fan of Minions or was there a different motivation at play?
  2. I've noticed you have a very specific approach to editing, based on your user page and past edits. You choose a problematic article in need of an overhaul and you give it the overhaul. I don't know of many other editors who do this but it seems like a good practice. How did you start taking this approach and why?
  3. I'm intrigued by some of the other articles you've taken this approach with. Ranging from Buzz Lightyear to Zombie apocalypse, plus various articles related to Picasso and Orwell. Are you simply chasing your own interests or is there another factor at play?
Thank you! Dflovett (talk) 13:58, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dflovett here are my replies:
  1. I have been improving quite a few characters articles because generally they seem to be the most neglected. I noticed that the Gru article was particularly poor quality and often vandalised. From there I wandered into the Minions article and was surprised at how underdeveloped it was, especially considering how recognisable they are. I do enjoy the Despicable Me films and familiarity with the subject tends to play a part in my editing choices, although I have also researched subjects that I know nothing about.
  2. I suppose it's in my nature to have a compulsion to improve bad content. Once I see an article that needs a lot of work and start researching the subject, I tend to get sucked into the subject matter and it drives me to keep working at the article. Many editors only make small entries to an article and because character articles get neglected, they can be full of factual errors, misinterpretations of the sources, or even completed uncited. They are usually written from a fictional point of view in the same format as Fandom or another wiki, so it needs a lot of work to put them right. My first serious overhaul was probably Link (The Legend of Zelda). Despite it being about one of the most important Nintendo video game characters, the quality of the article was appalling. I just started reviewing it, unpicking the problems and expanding it. I was encouraged by other editors to raise it to GA and even though it's long, I'm proud of it, knowing that readers will benefit from what i wrote.
  3. I do tend to chase my interests, for example, I recently reread Nineteen Eighty-Four and then started looking at the Orwell related character articles - the Winston, Julia and Big Brother articles were in poor shape and Julia especially had been marked for lack of notability. No one had put the work in to demonstrate how much academic coverage there is about these characters, so I overhauled several of the Orwell articles and expanded them to demonstrate their notability. I do all this to benefit WP readers but also for my own satisfaction as a writer. Fieryninja (talk) 22:23, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, these are great. A couple more questions:
  1. You said you came across my article on the Minions article while working on it. I just want to make sure we acknowledge that during this because otherwise it might seem like I'm leaving something out. That was not your motivation for this, but something you saw while doing research?
  2. Do you also edit Fandom wikis or any other non-Wikipedia wikis?
  3. Do you ever think about inclusionism vs. deletionism? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Dflovett (talk) 12:46, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
  1. Yes I found it entertaining but it didn't influence my work on the article.
  2. No I have never edited other wikis. Life is too short...
  3. I would say I'm an inclusionist. I've worked on articles to save them from the brink of deletion. There's plenty of space on WP.

Awesome thank you @Fieryninja - I don't know how soon I'll be writing about this (I got a queue of some other stuff I'm trying to finish) and I have to figure out the whole narrative. I'm also writing something related to Grimace (character) and I have to figure out if these are the same story or not. Dflovett (talk) 13:37, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dflovett no problem. I will be away from WP for a while now. If possible can you leave out my username? Good luck with your editing! Fieryninja (talk) 15:27, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
yeah I was gonna check with you on that. Happy to not mention you specifically by username. Dflovett (talk) 15:40, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
