Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Hot tip

[edit]

Hi @EdiotRando, I see you're making a lot of minor edits to your userpage that involve minor template addition/removal edits. Just a note: while this is fine in user space, this should be avoided in any other namespace as this clogs up the edit history.

That leads me to my hot tip: you can preview what your source edits would look like by clicking Publish, then Show preview. Or you can press Alt S (or ⌥ Option S on macOS) then P, but this only works on some browsers.

Hope this helps! TheTechie[she/they] | talk? 02:38, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I'll do my best to preview as much as I can before publishing it.
Not trying to be malicious or a pedant; just doing my, admittedly miniscule, part in this whole universe. Ediot (talk) 06:18, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
No worries! Glad it helped. TheTechie[she/they] | talk? 06:21, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just a small additional note: I am very much new to this, so I might clog up the edit history by accident due to just being overwhelmed with all the source text. I'm sure as time passes on, I'll get better the more I get used to reading all the source text. Ediot (talk) 06:25, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
