Request reason:
I am requesting a review of my indefinite block for alleged sockpuppetry.
I understand and respect Wikipedia's sockpuppetry policy and the importance of maintaining trust in the community. I would like to clarify that I am not User:Chinemeremprince, and I do not control, operate, or have access to that account.I have only used User:Dolphyb as my personal editing account. I also operate a separate bot account User:DolphybBOt, which is used only for bot-related activities and not as an alternate personal account or for avoiding any restrictions. User:Chinemeremprince is another Wikimedia contributor whom I know through our involvement in Wikimedia Nigeria Imo State Network activities. Our participation in the same Wikimedia community may explain similarities in interests, projects, or areas of contribution. However, we are separate individuals who manage our own accounts independently. We do not share passwords, account access, or edit on behalf of each other. If there are similarities in our editing patterns or contributions, they may be related to our involvement in the same Wikimedia activities, campaigns, and community initiatives where contributors often work on related topics. These similarities should not be interpreted as evidence that both accounts are operated by the same person.I am willing to provide any further clarification needed regarding my accounts, editing history, or relationship with other contributors. I respectfully request a review of the evidence that led to this block and consideration of my unblock request. If unblocked, I will continue to follow Wikipedia's policies, maintain transparency about my accounts, and contribute constructively to the project as I have always done. Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because this account was locked. You may appeal to the stewards. Izno (talk) 02:54, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

- @Girth Summit: Thoughts on an unblock here now that the stewards seem to have accepted that Dolphyb isn't a sock? * Pppery * in solidarity 15:51, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
- I'm not particularly impressed that they said in their original unblock request that they do not share passwords or account access, but that story changed when they were asking for unlock. With that being said, I will not stand in the way of an unblock. Girth Summit (blether) 15:57, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
- I don't read the story provided on Meta as
shar[ing] passwords or account access
to a greater degree than any editathon participants do - there's no evidence of passwords being shared. And Ptinphusmia's story is consistent with no "account access" being shared either - if Alice logs out of a computer and passes it to Bob who then logs in then at no point has Bob had access to Alice's account. When he attempted to edit an article, a message appeared indicating that Chinemeremprince was blocked
reads like an Autoblock happened, which doesn't indicate any malfeasance. * Pppery * in solidarity 16:53, 10 July 2026 (UTC)- I think that 'our participation in the same Wikimedia community' is somewhat different from 'the fact that I used a blocked editor's device to access my account'. Nevertheless, as I said I will not stand in the way of an unblock. Girth Summit (blether) 21:53, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
- I am going to unblock per my ability to vet the story from Ptinphusmia (and validation from other organizers) , and Pppery agreeing with the unblock. In backchanneling with Dolphyb, I can also tell that they have learned a lesson from the event (this isn't the first time that we have had an experience like this with youth/student club type events in Nigeria, so there is an element of community-knowledge/experience). Request reason:
See discussion above, and unblock threat on Meta: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Stewards%27_noticeboard#c-Dolphyb-20260710210300-%D8%B9%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%A1-20260710184600
Accept reason:
user has described an experience of signing in to a device at an in person event, and multiple local users have validated that they are different humans. As a general lesson, Dolphy has expressed regret, and will be carrying this lesson forward (alongside the other organizers in their network) Sadads (talk) 16:35, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
