Blocked for sockpuppetry

Request reason:
I am requesting a review of my indefinite block in connection with the NatalieYJ sockpuppet investigation.
- I am a separate individual and have never owned, controlled, accessed or edited through any other accounts, and no other individual has controlled or accessed my account. NatalieYJ asked me and other individuals to help review and update information on a Wikipedia article. Each person used their own account.
- At the time, I believed that having separate people verify and edit individual facts was consistent with Wikipedia’s requirements. I now understand that because we had been working on the same article, our activity could be regarded as coordinated editing or meatpuppetry and did not constitute independent editorial review. I thus made the conflict-of-interest that I had no affiliation to the subject as I am not an employee of SMU.
- If unblocked, I will use only this account, will not coordinate edits or ask anyone to edit on my behalf. Any future suggestions concerning a connected subject will be made transparently through the relevant Talk page, with my connection fully disclosed, so that an uninvolved editor can assess them. I am willing to accept an appropriate restriction on editing the Lily Kong article if this would address the concern.
- I apologise for misunderstanding the applicable rules and for the disruption caused. I would be grateful if an uninvolved administrator could review the block in light of this explanation. Debbstar (talk) 04:08, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I do not find this explanation plausible in light of the SPI. voorts (talk/contributions) 16:46, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
