Hi, welcome to the 27th volume of my talk page.

Question about your recent decision to protect the "Roads in the United Kingdom" article for one year

I'm someone who has long held an interest in British roads, and I'm a little unsure whether the recent semi protection you've applied to the article about roads in the UK is fully compliant with Wikipedia's page protection guidance. The article has just been semi-protected by you for a period of 1 year and appears to have had no prior protection at any point. In most cases semi-protection is used for short periods on an article unless vandalism occurs regularly, when articles tend to get protected for increasingly longer periods (typically going from around a week to a month to a year to longer/infinite) shortly after the previous protection period expires.

Outside of the few recent sockpuppet edits beginning on the 16th March, the article does not appear to be to frequently edited, and I suspect long term pending changes protection (which will block any suspected sockpuppet edits while allowing good faith anonymous edits), or alternatively a 1 week to one month semi-protection period (seeing as this vandalism looks relatively recent and the page has not been protected before), might be a better way to go with the page.

Gourleyo (talk) 22:32, 22 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

We don't have to limit our protection considerations to just the disruptive behavior the filer identifies. On reviewing the article history I found this linkspam, added by an IP last July and twice reverted. There have been no productive IP/TA/NC edits since then. Relocking Clavicular

Hello, @Daniel Case. Would you mind locking Clavicular? After your last protection expired, the page has expired daily disruption from TAs—mostly unsourced material and vandalism. Giovanni Potage (talk) 20:08, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your nomination of AB-Aktion has failed

Your good article nomination of the article AB-Aktion has failed. See the review page for more information. If or when the reviewer's feedback has been addressed, you may nominate the article again. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Daniel Case -- Daniel Case (talk) 05:30, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is this because I renamed the article per an issue raised at the GA nom? There is nothing at the review page indicating a fail. Daniel Case (talk) 05:36, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, the bot detects that the nomination of "Name A" was unsuccessful. CMD (talk) 05:52, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK ... thanks. It seems as though it might be a good idea to see if the bot can learn to recognize when an article and its accompanying nom page has merely been moved? Daniel Case (talk) 06:03, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's a known bug and on the to do list, but it's not a simple problem afaiui. The bot does put the 'new' article on the GAN list though, at the same position, so no manual action needs to be taken in addition to the move which is nice. CMD (talk) 09:05, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I made a change to the bot a couple of weeks to try to address this, but it apparently didn't work. This is a rare situation so I have to wait after each code fix to see if it happens again. I'll have another crack at it in the next week or two. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:50, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

TA sock

Hi Daniel, this TA appears to be a sockpuppet of PJK / Urabura. They, for example, restored edits in the National Bank of Poland article that had previously been made by earlier sockpuppets (Ender-theBoy, Bowdlerised, and several TA socks, see recent page history). Could you please take a look when you have a moment? JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 21:01, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

There's a bunch of related IPs. Do these edits as a broader pattern (i.e., the ones on Polish topics) suggest the same LTA? Daniel Case (talk) 21:13, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I believe they do. For example, the removal of the Ukrainian name from the Pierogi article, as well as the deletion of theories about a possible German origin of the name Bigos, fit the general pattern. They also restored another edit by a previous TA sock. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 22:08, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
And I will add that the geolocation on the Polish topic edits is consistent, too. I will see what I can do. Daniel Case (talk) 02:27, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK. I have blocked two of the temp accounts indef; since they were using different IPs (though in the same geographic area) it seems like this is a phone or some other sort of mobile/portable device, so this block may end it for this method for a while. Daniel Case (talk) 02:37, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot for looking into this. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 07:09, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Daniel Case: It looks like they have now created a whole series of new TAs (~2026-19115-91, ~2026-19108-67, ~2026-19009-60), as well as a new registered account (Falconn1986), and have used these to restore their edits and ping an editor who has been demonstrably contacted by PJK 1993 in the past. The edit summary rationale "good faith edit" is also typical of their previous socks (see e.g. ). Could you please take another look? JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 21:31, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK. I have indeffed the registered account and all those three temp accounts plus a fourth, and put the targeted pages (National Bank of Poland, Bigos, Władysław Grabski and Wrocław under protection for varying lengths of time.
This guy is really ticking me off here. This was so what I wanted to be doing with time of mine that is very precious right now when I have to call it a night soon so I can get up early for a long workday, when I was fully expecting to have a little of it to get some things done that mattered to me. Daniel Case (talk) 04:19, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much for handling this, especially at such an inconvenient time. I really appreciate it. There was no immediate urgency on my end, and I hope it didn't come across that way. I've mostly reached out to you in this case, as you're likely the admin most familiar with the details, and I've always found your judgments and actions very appropriate. Once again, big thanks! Page protection

Hello! Just a quick question. Here, you said that the page Joker (The Dark Knight) has been protected. Could you please explain how to tell that it's been protected? I thought that when protection is enacted, there is either (A) a lock icon at the top of the page, (B) a "PP" template when you start editing, or (C) a pop-up box when you start editing, but I see none of these. OrdinaryOtter(talk) 07:19, 29 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I didn't protect it; Gogo Dodo did, according to the protection log, and they also added the small protection tag, which I would guess might have inadvertently (or perhaps not) been removed in an intervening edit. I am, however, still seeing the protection notice above the edit window.
Frankly, it looks like that article may need to be elevated to extended-confirmed protection; GD would be the one to discuss it with. Daniel Case (talk) 17:48, 29 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your ARC statement

Hello, I've been silently following the current request for arbitration. Asking here so as to not clog up the ARC page, why does the part where your say "I never thought that something like this would happen to an editor like me." link to a porn magazine? Forgive me if it's obvious but I don't see the connection. GrayStorm(Talk to me|My Contribs.) 04:26, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I typed that, and thought of the classic beginning of so many letters to the Penthouse Forum detailing the writer's purported sexual experiences: "I never thought this would happen to a guy like me, but ..." Mayb that's not the best place for that joke; I'll take it out. Daniel Case (talk) 04:44, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Page protection

Hi Daniel Case. Thanks for adding page protection to the Green Party of England and Wales article. Would there be any chance you could please extend the protection until 8 May? There are local elections in the UK on 7 May and this page is going to get more attention and likely more vandalism in the time coming up to then. To drop the protection only a week away from elections at a heightened time of viewership, and likely vandalism, doesn't seem optimal. Helper201 (talk) 16:24, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done I added a week past the elections to be on the safe side. Daniel Case (talk) 18:10, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

"a period of indef"

I noticed this odd wording in this block notice. If there's some easy fix in your workflow to have the template spell out "indefinite", ideally in a grammatically correct way, that'd be cool. If not, no big deal. Just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware the template is doing this. Toadspike [Talk] 16:28, 6 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I hadn't realized that evadeblock redirects to sockblock, which has the indef=yes parameter. I would have used that had I known. Daniel Case (talk) 03:45, 7 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Likely another sock

@Daniel Case: It appears that PJK 1993 has returned under a new account "Maxbeirut". A few hours ago, there was an edit war on the Poland article in which this account made edits that had already been made by the previously blocked sockpuppet Bowdlerised:

  • replacing recent population figures based on estimates with 2022 census data
  • replacing "Kaliningrad Oblast" with "Russia" in the lead section
  • removing a sentence about Hussars from the lead section
  • replacing "as the first of the communist countries" with "as the first of its neighbours"

Diffs:

  • Maxbeirut (3 consecutive edits):
  • Bowdlerised (all in 1 edit):

Another indication is that on the article talk page they used the same wording as Bowdlerised, calling the same edit by this editor "cringe." (Maxbeirut: Bowdlerised: ) Both the personal attacks and the edit-warring behavior (resulting in a 24-hour block) match PJK. There are further indications, though I believe this is already quite evident. I’d appreciate it if you could take a look. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 22:12, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

User repeatedly making same controversial edit request

You blocked CBum 6 last time but he hasn't learned enough. Per WP:ER, the edit requests to an ECR protected topic must be uncontroversial so that they can be carried out without requiring further discussion. This was not the case with CBum 6's edit request the first time it was made, and therefore it was rejected, ever since then the user has repeatedly spammed this very request on the talkpage and even cast insinuations against me in the process. They did it today again despite my last warning to them. Zalaraz (talk) 09:42, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have blocked them from editing the page for three months since it implicates not just one but two contentious topic areas (but I did not make it ArbCom-appealable yet as this is the first block like this) ... Since they do not seem to be causing any problems elsewhere at the moment, further sanctions do not seem necessary. Daniel Case (talk) 21:29, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Russian language source check request

Hi, I saw you listed at Wikipedia:Translators available, and wondered if you might be willing to help confirm a couple of sources for an article? File:Banner of the Kokand Khans.svg says "The banner of the Kokand khans was white [...] symbolising the Chingissid tradition of khan authority" and gives two sources in Russian. I was hoping to add them to White flag § Islamic use, along with the information about symbolising the Chinggisids, but wanted to make sure they really did support the claims. I've tried to find alternative English language sources on JSTOR, Google, Google Books, and Internet Archive, but haven't found anything that covers this. Any help would be much appreciated, but I completely understand if you're busy with other stuff! --YodinT 17:09, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Dear Daniel Case, User:Univofbegumpet is repeatedly removing reliable sources from this article. I have told at user's talk page several times that they are reliable sources and the user isn't even ready to accept it. Another user have added another unreliable/Blog source to the article now (as discussed here). I'm not restoring the revision with reliable sources since I'm not willing to violate 3RR. Hope you can restore this edit revision which have reliable sources for budget and gross of the film. Thanks. Bikram96 (talk) 03:24, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I wish I could, but since it's not obvious vandalism I might appear to be involved if I did. Since they've backed off editing, maybe wait until 24 hours have gone by. Or get someone else to do it. Daniel Case (talk) 03:27, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
You can restore it since you aren't going to violate 3RR. Also, the gross now is with an unreliable source. Bikram96 (talk) 03:29, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but I'd potentially be perceived as having taken a side. Daniel Case (talk) 03:31, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Categorization of AE protection actions needed (13 April 2026)

Hello Daniel Case,

I'm a bot that helps log arbitration enforcement (AE) protection actions on behalf of the Arbitration Committee. As a result of a September 2025 motion by the Arbitration Committee, administrators are no longer required to manually log AE protection actions. Instead, this bot is responsible for logging AE protections to the AE protection log.

While logging AE protections, this bot detected that you recently took the following page protection actions. These action(s) seemed to be AE actions based on the edit summaries, but the bot wasn't able to tell which arbitration case they related to:

If these were AE actions, please take a moment to log the appropriate topic code at the AE protection log. If they were not, feel free to remove the actions from the AE protection log, and optionally let the bot operator know about the false positives.

Going forward, in order to help this bot categorize AE actions, please include a link to the contentious topic under which the action was taken in the protection edit summary (for example, [[WP:CT/BLP]] or [[Wikipedia:Contentious topics/Biographies of Living Persons]]).

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the bot operator or to the arbitration clerks at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard.

Thank you! ClerkBot (talk) 23:55, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

TAs

Hi Daniel. Recently, a large number of TAs have been pushing changes related to alternative names in the article Szczecin. They appear to be operated by PJK/Urabura. In the last days, 3 TAs made/reverted edits in the article in quick succession: ~2026-24986-66, ~2026-25284-13, and ~2026-25473-89. Reasons I believe these accounts belong to PJK/Urabura:

Also, last month, this TA started another discussion about alternative names on the talk page and brought up the same "New Amsterdam" example as PJK so it seems likely that this is another sock (and probably also this TA, who expressed the same opinion just 30 minutes later).

Question on application of CANVASS

Hi, I don't think we've ever spoken but I saw you'd written APPNOTE is generally applied only to actual discussions where there may be valid reasons for different outcomes. It does not, in my experience, ever apply to misconduct noticeboard reports. Can I ask if what you're saying is that the canvassing policy applies in discussions where editors reach a consensus, but not in situations where conduct are reported to admins like ANEW or AE? The context is that there's a discussion on this at Wikipedia talk:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement#Canvassing after someone accused someone else of trying to canvass someone to the AE report. (I am not hte filer, filee, the canvasser, the canvassee and my involvement is minimal). I just remembered that you'd written something like this, which makes sense to me, but seems not to be the common understanding, so I want to try and work out what the community norm actually is. Samuelshraga (talk) 08:54, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hmm ... yes, that is exactly what I meant, and given that the wording of APPNOTE (especially the four sub-bullet points under the fifth one) strongly suggests it was written with editorial discussions in mind, I can't see any other interpretation.
Here's the link to the request for my attention referred to (ironically, a request made by a user who just got banned by ArbCom). I don't really see a request for an admin knowledgeable about enforcement in a particular conduct-related policy area violates even the spirit of CANVASS as presently written. I'd be curious to see the edit the discussion you linked to is about.
That discussion really isn't about that policy, rather the dissimilarity of Wikipedia procedures to those in a court of law. That said, I, too, would be curious as to what, exactly, The Bushranger means here. Daniel Case (talk) 02:52, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's that as I read WP:CANVASS, pinging an editor who you believe will support you to an enforcement discussion is notification done with the intention of influencing the outcome of a discussion in a particular way. Now that it's been pointed out, I suppose I can see the intent being that it's only intended to apply to editorial discussions; but then again, point #4 says On the talk pages of a user mentioned in the discussion (particularly if the discussion concerns complaints about user behavior) (emphasis added), which would imply it applies to all discussions, not just editorial ones, which is one reason I read it as applying to all discussions. If the actual intent is for it only to apply to editorial ones, that should probably be clarified in it. - The Bushranger One ping only 03:40, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
+1 As with too many of our policies (and, to be fair, many real-life statutes), the drafting took place with one situation in mind but not the possible wider implications of the words used, which can (and has} led to unintended consequences down the line.
I mean, I don't see what purpose is served by applying it to conduct discussions, at least not in the same way as editorial discussions. Admins pinged to conduct discussions, as I was in the cited instance, are not in the same position as they (or any other editor) would be in an editorial discussion. Admins, especially those familiar with the prior history of the editors involved, have a unique perspective on such discussions, and the authority (and indeed sometimes the responsibility) to use the tools and take action.
I would lastly note that in the discussion in question, I was pinged from the noticeboard, not via my talk page, so point #4 wouldn't apply (and I can see why—that way it was public and everyone involved could see it; whereas it might look a little shifty if I had suddenly popped in as if I had just happened to see the discussion and the message on my talk page had only been discovered afterwards). Daniel Case (talk) 18:10, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
@The Bushranger returning to this as the canvassing allegation which led me to query this is now part of it's own new AE filing (in which I'm totally uninvolved), and led me to think about this again.
You said that the wording On the talk pages of a user mentioned in the discussion (particularly if the discussion concerns complaints about user behavior) implies that it applies to "all discussions, not just editorial ones". My point when starting this is that I think the distinction isn't between conduct and editorial discussions, but between discussions that come to a consensus of all editors in good standing, and forums which are adjudicated by admins like AE/ANEW. If I summon 100 like-minded people to ANI, I think it's still canvassing just as if I summoned them to Talk:The Little Mermaid.
If I ask someone to weigh in on an WP:AE filing, I don't think it's canvassing. It can easily fall foul of other things, like gaming word limits or battleground, but the point is that if I could summon 100 regular editors to vote at AE, it wouldn't affect the outcome. This distinction, and not the editorial/conduct one, seems consistent. Samuelshraga (talk) 19:34, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for Protection for Frequently Vandalized Articles

Hello, I saw about a week ago that you put a semi-protected status on Dieter F. Uchtdorf and Ronald A. Rasband due to vandalism due to RFPP and WP:CT/BLP. These men are two apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and pages about these leaders generally draw vandalism. Even since that time, Dale G. Renlund received similar vandalism, which you also protected. Within the Church, there are twelve Apostles and three members of the First Presidency, all of which attract similar edits. Would you put a similar protection status on these other living leaders of the Church?

12 Apostles (I removed the ones that have already been protected): David A. Bednar, Quentin L. Cook, Neil L. Anderson, Gary E. Stevenson, Gerrit W. Gong, Ulisses Soares, Patrick Kearon, Gérald Caussé, Clark G. Gilbert.

First Presidency: Henry B. Eyring, Dallin H. Oaks, and D. Todd Christofferson.

If you would like further proof of vandalism attempts to these pages, let me know and I'll compile a list. I recognize this is kind of a long list, but I would appreciate the reduction of vandalism on these pages. Thank you for all you do for Wikipedia! Itsetsyoufree32 (talk) 16:45, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Euphemisms

Concerning this edit, constructions like taken their own lives seem too euphemistic, they're certainly less direct. What's your perspective? fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 08:15, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't see how that could be euphemistic in the slightest ... can it possibly be read in any other way? The point is that MOS:SUICIDE counsels:

The phrase committed suicide is neither recommended nor banned on the English Wikipedia, although "style manuals have come to avoid commit suicide, which is now considered insensitive because of its whiff of criminality". There are many other appropriate, common, and encyclopaedic ways to describe a suicide

I grant that "took their own life" isn't among the suggestions, but it uses the word "includes", which usually indicates a non-exhaustive list. Daniel Case (talk) 17:25, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Capital punishment by country

Hi, Daniel, on 8 March 2026 you semiprotected the article Capital punishment by country. Now, user:LaloAlvarezGzz780 has resumed his disruptive editing, which, frankly, I no longer have the patience to monitor. I wonder if there's a way to stop him. Thanks. Jeanambr (talk) 15:59, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

This seems like we need to focus on this individual user ... Escalating to ECP would stop him, yes, but it seems like he's the only problematic user on that page at the moment.
He needs more recent warnings (I may take care of this myself; I'm not sure). Revert anything he did that needs it, and then report him to AIV for disruptive editing and not communicating if he returns. Daniel Case (talk) 18:01, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I just saw ... he got a final warning recently. Hasn't edited in five days ... we'll see what happens. Daniel Case (talk) 18:23, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Actually, again, that warning is almost a year old. So he needs a new one. Will do if I see reverts. Daniel Case (talk) 19:31, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I apologize, but my English is rather poor, so I'm not sure I understood your answers correctly. In fact, the last warning he received from user:IdiotSavant was in March of this year, about two months ago. And later, on May 8th, 9th, and 10th, he made a number of new edits, which I haven't reverted yet, just to avoid causing a stir. Should I have?
P.S.Unfortunately, I don't know what the acronyms ECP and ACV mean. Jeanambr (talk) 22:29, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
ECP is extended-confirmed protection, which limits editing to editors who have made at least 500 edits and been active for 30 days. That would apply to him.
AIV is the administrator intervention against vandalism page, where reports of editors acting like this are often made and acted on.
Yes, the last warning they got was in March, which was so long ago as to be stale. Above it on their talk page is an actual last warning, meaning do this again and you're blocked. But that's just shy of a year old.
If someone hasn't gotten warnings over what they've been doing, at least to a greater extent than he has, you can't be surprised when they do it again. In most situations, you want warnings to be recent and firm enough that they had to have understood they were not to go on. Daniel Case (talk) 00:22, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Depends on the page in question. Of course, as the intro material to WP:RFPP/D points out, asking for a reduction in protection on the grounds that no vandalism or disruption has occurred is like saying that you should start leaving your house unlocked since nobody has broken in since you started locking it at night. Office Space

Hi there. So I understand you reverted my edit here, and while it may be true that there is one film, you should pay close attention to the article itself. There is; in fact; a musical play, a mobile game, and talks of sequels. Also, there was a short film that the film itself was based on. So if anything, it does technically counts as a franchise, even it is a single film. Dr. Gregory House's Missing Cane (talk) 14:56, 13 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Lake Gistova/Gramoz/ Gramozit, revisionist editing on the Albanian page of Wikipedia

Greetings Daniel, Please forgive me but I would like to add that certain people are starting again the same revisionism concerning the location of lake Gistova or Garmozit or Gramoz or Gistove as it is widely known. regrdless its the same Glacier Alpine lake. The new revisionism now takes place in the Albanian page using unidentified bots. I edited, again the article but they have my edit on review as pending? Is that real? I Cite Primary Albanian Governmental sources on my discussion but they (unidentified bots) just change the page again and again. The person who accepted the un identified review on April 24, 26 and changed the content on the Albanian page of Wikipedia on Lake Gistova/Gramos/ Gramozit is called Mr. Klein Meci.

Please, I need assistance on this matter from any administrator that can help on this matter. They cannot use revisionism when facts exist and the matter has been already adjudicated. Thank you for your attention, Aetolia.

(PS I already notified the Albanian editor Mr. Klein Meci who accepted the change concerning the location of lake Gistova by an un identified bot?)

Greetings Mr. Klein Meci
Lake Gistova or Gramoz or Gramozit which happens to be the same Lake under different Albanian names happens to be part of the Hellenic Republic. It is not shared with Albania and has already been adjudicated in Wikipedia as Lake Gistove/Garmozit/Gramos just by using Albanian Primary and Official Sources only which are also under the Jurisdiction of the Albanian Prime Ministry. Lately, have seen bots or unidentified person changing the border reality on this matter on the Albanian version of Wikipedia. Actually you have reviewed a change like that on April 24 , 2026 and was approved by you? If it was not approved by you I apologize in advance. Please redress this matter quickly as it was original sighted in the Albanian Wikipedia page. Additionally, I have already informed and reported this matter on Wikipedia on as well and I am looking an answer on this topic. Border revisionism should not be allowed. Clearly the Albanian Military Topographic Institute and the National Territorial Planning Agency of Albania both confirm the lake is not in Albania

https://geoportal.asig.gov.al/map/?auto=true
Official Albanian geospatial primary sources confirm this placement unequivocally. The Agency for the State Cadastre and Geospatial Information (ASIG) Geoportal, when viewing the 2007 20 cm resolution orthophoto layer (selectable in the left/bottom panel as "2007 20 CM" or similar under Orthoimagery/Historical Maps), clearly shows the lake at high zoom levels near projected coordinates 567362.404 E, 4470179.392 N (in the Albanian national projection system). The high-resolution 2007 aerial imagery—produced and hosted by Albania's official geospatial agency—depicts the lake entirely south of the border ridge/watershed, with no Albanian boundary line crossing the water body or including it within Albanian territory. This visual evidence aligns with publications from the Albanian Military Topographic Institute and the National Territorial Planning Agency (AKPT), which exclude Lake Gistova from Albanian border delimitations.
Mapping errors on some commercial platforms (e.g., historical inaccuracies on Google Maps placing the border across the lake) have led to online discussions and occasional media reports, but these stem from technical glitches, not official claims or disputes. Primary sources from both countries, including ASIG's 2007 orthophoto, support the lake's full location in Greece.
•          Neutrality: Removes unsubstantiated "Albanian perspectives" of overlap, as no official Albanian government or geospatial data supports this; it avoids amplifying fringe media narratives (e.g., from Albanian outlets like Pamfleti).
•          Clarity and Enhancements: Adds precise coordinates and historical context for verifiability. Includes elevation and size for better reader context without altering the article's encyclopedic tone.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Brett Cantor.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Brett Cantor.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Just re-iterating my comment on the file talk page, to make sure we're both on the same page; we've both made our cases. You disagree with the community's prohibition on using press photos, you've made that very clear. However, the CSD tag is going to be evaluated by an uninvolved admin; let's let them do that without making them read any more of my long-winded explanations about the non-free content criteria. PIA talk- & edit-notices

Hi Daniel Case, if you're interested I've recently gotten a bot task approved to automatically create talk- and edit-notices for pages protected under WP:CT/AI. You're still welcome to create them, of course, but if you find it a hassle, the bot should be able to take care of it for you! Best, Staraction (talk · contribs) 20:50, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! This should have been done long ago (Although I still think it's arguable, that since indef-ECPing an article with no prior protection history or current disruption is a pretty drastic step, it should require any of the many people empowered to take it to do it in several steps so that it is not taken lightly). Increase protection

Persistant disruption on Gujarat by various IP accounts for POV pushing in a infobox image caption name of a mountain (Girnar). Per MOS:SPECIFICLINK and WP:COMMONNAME the caption should be the direct article name of the place i.e. Girnar itself by its article title name, which was there until various IP accounts emerge after some time period and try to push their religious name in the title of this place. For your context, this place also has ancient Ashoka's Rock Edicts, ancient Uperkot fort and Ropeway for tourism too as per the page. But these IPs want to change the title name as per their Pov. Also if you look at their contributions, you'll find the same cohort of pages being edited per their Pov (including using of Chatgpt generated links and later removing the part from the url, using non-RS sub-standard sources and changing info for Pov pushing without any RS source etc.) This is the same IP currently doing so (2026-31261-32) because of whom you increased protection on Mahalakshmi Temple, Kondapur on 29 May by looking at their contributions, so i thought to inform you while requesting protection of this page. Protection of David Barnea

Hello, I'd like to ask about the protection on the David Barnea article. As I understand it, the protection was originally applied while he was serving as head of the Mossad. Since he no longer holds that position, I believe the original reason for the protection may no longer apply. For comparison, the article on Tamir Pardo, a former head of the Mossad, is not protected, and the Hebrew Wikipedia article on David Barnea is also open for editing. Would you consider lowering the protection level or removing it entirely? Thank you. Avigail56 (talk) 13:56, 8 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

And also Meir Dagan, Danny Yatom, Shabtai Shavit, and more. Avigail56 (talk) 14:22, 8 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
My hands are tied. The ARBPIA decisions pretty much require indefinite ECP on all primary-topic articles related to the conflict, and that does not change for a recent Mossad director if they leave office.
And even if that could be changed, a mere admin cannot do it. You would have to make a request at AE. Daniel Case (talk) 16:43, 8 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Where exactly do I open the discussion? And do you think there's a realistic chance, or would I be better off putting in the effort to reach extended confirmed? Avigail56 (talk) 04:51, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Block?

In this edit you say the TA is blocked. However, they were only blocked from one article, and that was several days ago. I was reporting a more general history of vandalism. They may have attempted to edit that one article, though, and have since made a full account and continued with the vandalism they were doing under the TA. - UtherSRG (talk) 21:33, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your edits on Info pages

Hi David Case: I've noticed that you've made edits at Wikipedia:IP hopper, which now appears to be a little outmoded because of temporary accounts. Is there any plan at Wikipedia to update this page to 'Wikipedia:Temp account hopper'? I'm finding that there appear to be editors who frequently change their temp account in order to gain advantage over other editors during edit disputes and other similar situations. Any chance of someone from sys ops doing a 'Wikipedia:Temp account hopper' page? ErnestKrause (talk) 04:07, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Well, on one hand, you're right that temp accounts change that page somewhat, as noted. Temp-account hopping still happens ... like, say, when users jump from one terminal in a school or library cluster so the account will not stay on the device. That sometimes shows up as different IPs on the same /64, so we do still block underlying ranges.
Another thing you see is the reverse ... same temp account, but the IP keeps changing, but remains in the same general area. This is, I think, almost always someone taking a mobile or portable device to different locations. If TAs gave us any improvement, it's that we can more easily pin this on one single user, and block the temp account without having to shut several hundred people (at least, with a /64 ... it can be thousands on an IPv4's /16) out of editing altogether.
We should probably start drafting an updated version of that page. Its advice regarding how to deal with ranges is still, IMO, relevant, but now only for admins and people with TAIV. Daniel Case (talk) 04:38, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Is anyone working on the updated version of that page? ErnestKrause (talk) 17:10, 23 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Same IP that i reported above, has been doing many uncon. edits across various pages

Hi, admin Daniel Case as i reported above [] a few days back. Since then the same IP (2026-31261-32) [] has went on to do the following things in these edits that i will mention below:

1. Reverting bot ClueBot NG's revert on vandalism []

2. Adding information with GPT responses [] and []

3. Removing information citing misleading citation, whereas the citation source is correct, active and longstanding []

4. Removing need more footnotes and only primary sources tag that has been there since 2 years []

5. Adding ChatGPT content [] and then removing it in next edit [] before being reverted by other editor

6. Removing longstanding "probably, may be, possible and may have" per sources due to mythology to "are" for pov pushing without any reason [].

7. Here this ip changed from contributions to origin [] and one of the early to oldest [] both without any reliable source to support it.

8. Removing idol name saying it isnt found where as the below NDTV source attached mentions it in the name []

9. Removing two states from a language page citing pov, where there isnt one clearly in that (as these states have people who speak the language per their articles) []

10. This IP has also been reported about using LLM and doing vandalism and non constructive edits by multiple editors in their talk page [] but they went on doing the same things afterwards too in same and other pages.

This user along with other IPs have edited the same group of pages, doing the same things like above (despite being reverted by many editors before) as i mentioned in my last increase protection request above, which you did. I request you to look onto this matter. Thankyou ACMehta (talk) 16:11, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, admin Daniel Case sorry but i think you might have blocked some other IP by mistake here or there might be some confusion here. As I said, I blocked the underlying IP address behind the temp account. It has not edited since I blocked the IP. That prevents the temp accounts from editing (at least from that IP) during the block. There's a difference between TA and IP. Daniel Case (talk) 20:16, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Curious, if we organize a vote on whatever is going on over at UFC Freedom 250 (I haven't been following honestly, but I'll look into whatever it is to make my mind up and vote), can we have the protection lowered a notch? EC protection

Hello. Regarding your request to not edit the UFC White House article during the event, the other editor you made the request to acknowledged your request on the user talk page but within 10 minutes started editing the article. The first edit back was to make a revert.. Also reverted an edit for being a "live update" then made the identical edit a minute later. Edit warred about a "live update" again, then made the identical edit three minutes later. In total, Gsfelipe94 made ~20 edits to the article during the event. NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 14:51, 15 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

He edited at 9:30 ... was the whole thing over by then? I did say "during the event", so maybe it's my fault for not being precise (although you clearly understanding what I should have said while he stuck to the letter does not do him any favors with me). Daniel Case (talk) 19:24, 15 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
The edits I linked above were made during the event. It was scheduled to start at 8pm ET but was delayed about an hour due to weather, and it ended around 1am ET. He responded to your request on the user talk page so he must have seen it, but edited the article during the event anyway. NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 19:30, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think enforcement people of Wikipedia or multiple admins need to review the concern if needed but what matters that UFC Freedom 250 is no longer under protection. As usual the event is now over meaning pages has cool down. For sure i can say one thing about the page. Its NOT the same "big" UFC event like UFC 300, 200, or 100. President Donald Trump has alot of involvement in this event obviously. There were multiple categories were involved more than ever.😀 Governmentshutdown2026 (talk) 21:38, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
If it does go that far. It should be a WP:TBAN or WP:ABAN Governmentshutdown2026 (talk) 22:21, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Should have pinged me here, Nicholas. It doesn't look cool to keep that "stalking" behavior towards me - though I saw this conversation because I went to your contributions to look for and old edit. Anyway, I now realize that I misread it, then just focused on the article being open again and caught up on helping improve it. Therefore I apologize for that. Regarding the edits mentioned, they were live updates (including wrong information like official time) and like any other one in football events or other situations, they are reverted and users are warned to avoid that behavior. And the "revert" is clearly an information that was updated again alongside one that was correctly added by another editor. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 03:24, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I did not make any of those exceptions. No edits meant no edits. And still does. Daniel Case (talk) 03:26, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm not saying you did an exception or that it doesn't mean that. As I said, I clearly misread the message and take full responsability for it. That is plain simple and it would be pretty dumb for me to blantanly ignore it on purpose. That also doesn't take away that it was wrong, despite my explanation. Howard Gardner

Thank you for working on the page protection page. I see that you have declined my request for protection of the article, suggesting that it is a content dispute and that I should have posted on the article talkpage. I had already done that, and explained there in more detail why there are significant BLP problems with the edits being made. For the last few months TA (always new ones) from a particular town in the US, have made a series of negative edits violating BLP (RS, SYNTH, V etc). You also suggest that I contact them on the talkpage of the editor, and I guess I will do so, but I question how effective this will be since new TAs are created every time the person edits. The editor has inserted the material again, on yet another new account . I will revert and warn them as you suggest, but I ask you to please take another look about how best to handle these edits. Maybe it is possible to do something about the underlying IP? Thank you in advance. Slp1 (talk) 15:39, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I just consider that a necessary step where the TA hasn't demonstrated an awareness of how we communicate otherwise—edit summaries (even though we're not really supposed to) and the article talk page. New editors can miss them, but they can't be unaware of the talk page. Protection should be used sparingly; it's best to exhaust all the other possible remedies first. Daniel Case (talk) 17:50, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the response. I had already done the article talkpage and the edit summaries and have now put a message on the latest TA's talkpage, though I fear they will not see that either because they will be on a new IP/TA next time they go to WP. Anyway, fingers crossed and we will see what happens! --Slp1 (talk) 18:37, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
In my opinion someone who relies on changing temporary accounts to do their dirty work assumes the risk of missing messages intended for them. We had the same issue (and really, still do) with people on dynamic IPs, particularly /64 IPv6 ranges, who at least had the excuse that they didn't control which IP they were on (and with IPv6, that's pretty much the point). But I have yet to see an unblock request of one of my blocks of such a user where they were trying to claim they never got the warning(s). Daniel Case (talk) 18:43, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
For what it is worth they are back this morning with two new TAs (!)and another editor has reverted twice and reported to the protection request page. Slp1 (talk) 14:14, 20 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Again the same IP that you temp banned, after i reported them above

Hey, admin Daniel Case, the IP 2026-31261-32 [] that i reported earlier above here [] with various unconstructive edits history, whom you blocked for a day then for response, has again started doing such unconstructive stuff, like [] like here they said falsely they are restoring inscription image, but if you look at this edit they have removed well sourced long-standing information instead of what they said in edit summary. It was reverted by user Arjayay while stating "Unexplained deletions with false edit summary" [] rightly. This IP was given a warning on the page with clear explanation [], but still they choose to shrug it off (by writing "wdym explain clearly", when it actually was by the editor) like many other similar warnings at their talk page as seen here []. As i said above this IP has reverted wikipedia bots, used LLM, removed information by giving false summaries (like this one, and even ones in my last complaint), engaged in pov-pushing, doing vandalism at multiple pages even after being warned at their talk, removed footnotes and tags, added undue info per their pov in marathi and kannada language pages ([]), removed urls and other parameters in cite templates, using chatgpt and other llms for sourcing and later removing when reverted like i said above. I reported this follow-up to you, so that you can see what to do, now that nothing has changed even after their temp ban by you and several warning by various editors and bots in their talk page, in the very short span this IP is contributing unconstructively. Thank you ACMehta (talk) 20:30, 23 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have blocked the underlying IP for two days this time. Let's see if they start getting the hint. Daniel Case (talk) 03:01, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hey admin, Daniel Case i dont see the 24 hour ban on the IP 2026-31261-32 in effect as you said. As you can see the same IP is contributing inside the 48 hours ban period per its contributions page []. Also, its doing the same unconstructive editing even now, like here [], the user removed the term "note" (given by the ASI and as reported by the sources linked in verbatim), and changed it to "claim" for pov-pushing, whereas we just say what the WP:RS sources say and per what they have reported, especially in direct statement releases, and so it was here, until IPs like this one have pov-pushed and did disruption in this page (even this page among others have this same IP doing similar edits too, as i reported in my first complaint). Kindly look onto this matter, i feel they are simply WP:NOTHERE as seen from its consecutive unconstructive editing history, even after being notified, warned and banned by several editors as seen in its talk page []. Thank you, ACMehta (talk) 13:48, 25 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK ... I see that they've changed IPs. But since they're within the same range, we'll see if that works. I will upgrade to a range block and make it longer. Daniel Case (talk) 17:01, 25 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

For reasons gone into somewhat humorously here, admins (or at least protecting admins) decline these requests when they have put pages under full protection, since we'd look like we were taking a side. You could ask another admin, or wait until the protection expires. Daniel Case (talk) 17:41, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, reverted. I'd welcome any sources Panda has that the EU ruling has been implemented in these countries, but Panda keeps saying that the countries "must" provide rights, when they have a history of rejecting similar rulings. — kwami (talk) 19:39, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Panda is back to adding countries with sources that do not support the addition, claiming that a court ruling ordering that the law be changed counts as the law actually being changed.
They are also not presenting evidence on the talk page (Template_talk:Same-sex_unions#Nepal_and_eastern_Europe). — kwami (talk) 22:14, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Categorization of AE protection actions needed (26 June 2026)

Thank you! ClerkBot (talk) 23:55, 26 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea as it prevents users who's edits are being prevented by a filter from reporting a false positive. Almost all of the reports being made on that page are by non-autoconfirmed users. --Prothe1st (leave me a message)-- 18:48, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I agree, but we have protected it for short times for the same reason in the past. We ought to have some sort of more formal rule about what would trigger protecftion on this page.
In any event if another admin wants to lift it early I have no objection. Daniel Case (talk) 18:52, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Rihanna#RfC: Songwriter

You closed this RfC as "include". Since you closed it, seven of the editors who !voted for include have been identified as meatpuppets, including Israell, Never17, castorbailey, MraClean, Mr Boar1, TruthGuardians, and Episteme Aletheia. Could you revisit the discussion to see if your assessment of consensus is still accurate? BilledMammal (talk) 01:26, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

OK, I see that four of them are banned per the Michael Jackson ArbCom case. But three of them weren't, only topic-banned (which should have no bearing on an article about another singer). And where exactly have they all been identified as meatpuppets? Do you have a link to that? Daniel Case (talk) 04:11, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Semi Jaupaj

Hi Daniel. I wanted to bring this article to your attention of Albanian singer Semi Jaupaj. She is quite popular and a simple google search can confirm this. However, her article was moved to draft status Draft:Semi Jaupaj. Despite her extensive body of work, the article was not considered worthy because it only showed "one single credible" source, according to user Ibjaja055. Can you help in restoring it back as an active article? Because even if the article lacks sufficient sources, it should not be indiscriminately dumped into the draft archives. It can simply have added the template "more sources" needed or something of the like. Kj1595 (talk) 22:55, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Well, this is not an area where I know much about what would and wouldn't be considered a reliable source, unfortunately. But that's what it needs. Daniel Case (talk) 01:00, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Any suggestion how to revert it as an active article? Kj1595 (talk) 01:26, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
You can't just up and move it ... it has to go through the process of being approved. Daniel Case (talk) 01:29, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Indefinite protection

Hi Daniel, I noticed that you indefinitely semi-protected both New York–style bagel and Lox. Neither page had been protected before. This seems like a rather large leap for the first protection. I'm especially worried because we have a tendency to forget about indefinite protections and leave them in place far longer than needed (example AN threads: 1, 2, 3). Would you be willing to consider reducing these to a shorter term? Thanks, Toadspike [Talk] 19:16, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The history of both articles shows they have been subject to frequent disruption for over a year. If it's been going on that long, it's likely to go on for at least as long. Daniel Case (talk) 22:48, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Prot for Rhode Island

Hiya,

For info, the editor and I have been discussing the issue on their talk page - they did provide an updated source for the statistics which they updated, and I was about to restore that part once I got back home and at a keyboard, which would have resolved the dispute going by the discussion. The other parts of the edits were unsourced which is why it came to a dispute, but it has as far as I can tell been resolved on their talk page Danners430 tweaks made 19:46, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Ervin L. Jordan Jr.

Hi, Daniel Case. Hoping you can help with this one. Ervin L. Jordan Jr. is a BLP with a persistent issue with the addition of unsourced content by IP editors. I requested page protection in May, and you said that you had warned the IP and that the next stage would be a bloc and that I should report to AIV. An IP has now made changes which are partly unsourced; I'm not sure if the AIV route is now appropriate, as some of the additional text is sourced, albeit to Jordan's own work. Can you let me know? Toluca FC

Hello - hope you're doing well. Curious if you could reconsider removing the protection you added for Toluca FC a while back. I've been working on the article a lot over the past several weeks and have addressed all the referencing issues. I've even nominated it for GA and I'm confident it could do well. I'd like to invite readers to fix/update the article if needed and lifting the protection will help with that. For context, Toluca set to compete in the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup so I suspect a lot of international readers will visit the page in the upcoming months and I think it would be great to allow them to contribute if they see fit. I will take care of any unsourced claims that may surface in the future. Thank you for considering! Morogris () 21:33, 10 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Categorization of AE protection actions needed (23 July 2026)

Thank you! ClerkBot (talk) 23:56, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

TA

Hi Daniel Case, there's a new TA that strongly resembles Urabura and their previous sockpuppets. The editing is once again concentrated in the WP:CT/EE topic area, with a particular focus on Poland-related articles. There are several overlaps with their earlier accounts. Two examples:

Gdańsk: Downplaying postwar expulsions in the lead section, using the same edit summary rationale as previous socks

  • this TA:
  • previous sock PahlaviFan:
  • previous TA sock:

Lviv: Restoring the same image to the same position in the infobox photo montage

  • this TA:
  • previous sock Redirecterr:
  • previous sock Bowdlerised:

Since you're familiar with the case, could you take a look when you have a chance? JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 12:26, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have blocked the underlying IP for two weeks. Daniel Case (talk) 14:07, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for taking action and blocking the underlying IP. Would you also consider blocking the account itself? I realize that they can create new TAs without much effort, but a block would make it easier for editors to refer to the account's editing history if similar accounts appear in the future. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 16:52, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Blocking the IP automatically blocks all temp accounts that used it, as well as the creation of temp accounts from the IP during the block. Daniel Case (talk) 17:10, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I understand that. However, my understanding is that blocking the account would explicitly mark it as blocked, which would make it easier to refer to this account in future sockpuppet investigations (let's say, for example, several months from now, when the IP block has expired). Also, blocking the accounts has consistently led them to stop in the past, at least for a while.
I also noticed that they are already using a new TA. This is evident, first, because they continued the talk page discussion in which they had previously been a major participant using this new TA. It is also apparent from their comment on the Romania talk page concerning Romania's geographical location. With their previous socks, they invested a great deal of effort in proving that Romania is not located in Central Europe, e.g. here. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 17:34, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Another newly created TA has now appeared, restoring an edit by one of their previous socks word for word:
  • this TA:
  • previous sock Redirecterr:
JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 17:47, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Like the other two TAs, this TA also participated in the same talk page discussion and repeated the same position. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 03:39, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK, as you should now be able to see, I have blocked all the temp accounts. Itwas made easier by the option available when blocking a temp account to block all the temp accounts on the same IP address. But still … this could be done in one step, not two. Daniel Case (talk) 13:30, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I was talking with someone from the Foundation about how it would be nice if there was some way of knowing that the IP or range underlying a TA was blocked if the TA was not created from a mobile or portable device. Or that we get the option to block the TAs indefinitely in those circumstances.
I mean, I can and will indef those TAs. It’s just work that, ideally, I wouldn’t have to do. Daniel Case (talk) 13:07, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
That makes sense. Hopefully the process can be improved in the future. Thanks for taking the time to explain it and for taking care of the blocks. JeanClaudeN1 (talk) 18:05, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

New User:Rajarshinandi doing same uncon editing activity on same pages as the ip you blocked twice above. Also, reporting usage of many instances of foul language attacks by this user (even to admins).

Hey, admin Daniel Case, the IP 2026-31261-32 [] that i reported earlier above twice here [] and here [] with various unconstructive edits history (mentioned in detail in both of those sections), whom you blocked for a day once and then for two weeks later on, awaiting for their response (which never came in both cases), has again started doing such unconstructive stuff with a new account registered on July 9 during this ban []. The same pages that were edited by the above banned ip are being edited with this new account, with similar edits, reverts, pov-pushing and multiple instances of using foul languages against multiple admins (even before being blocked for it). I have attached many instances of both proving it as a sock and usage of foul languages various times. The latter is itself prominent even to prove that this new user simply doesnt belong here in Wikipedia.

Look at this the same page [] and [].

Look at this, the same section title given by the new user same as the ip in another language page [] and []. Both the previous ip and this user has edited the Kannada language page too.

Look at this, the same set of misleading edits have been done again by the new user [] and []

Look again the same page here too, [] and []

This new user [] was banned previously too in its very short history for contravening Wikipedia's policy against harassment by an admin, as can be seen here [].

Look here [], this user is using words to admin like "retards given such high access in wikipedia", "crap", "weirdo", "Fucking ego" etc. I am quoting their exact words in the edit But you are such weirdo, first you gave a crap excuse that it is AI, then you say it is copyright violation. You just want that image to be deleted to satisfy your Fucking ego. What kind of retards are given such high access on Wikipedia!

Here this user is deliberately wrote user CoconutOctopus's name as "CocoNUT" []. I hope you get the malicious intent behind it clearly.

Even here the user is writing "what kind of behavior is this by admins" [].

At their talk page, even an uninvolved admin called Epicgenious warned them about the use of foul language again []

The ip that this new user Rajarshinandi's edit action matches, has already performed multiple unconstructive edits like using LLM, giving false edit summaries, pov-pushing etc as i have mentioned twice above. The same (involvement in same pages with similar edit actions, including addition of same content) has been repeated by this new user as i've listed above, and on top of that they have been using multiple foul language attacks to various users including admins has been also listed by me above. I believe they are simply not here in good faith and will continue to do on such actions if not blocked permanently now. After all this history and things like [] including such cuss-words "retards given such high access in wikipedia", "crap", "weirdo", "Fucking ego" etc, this user must be banned including its ip range to be blocked, as it has history of evading that too, before being blocked by you twice after my last complaint above. Thank you ACMehta (talk) 10:31, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You can also look at this user's recent contribution history on 25 July. The user has changed lede and content of one temple citing "Neutral pov" twice, while it has 5 sources claiming the information they removed. While on the other hand the same user has changed title and moved page of a different temple (which is also contentios) and added a religious name to it (right after doing the first change). How blatent of one-sided pov pushing this can be. The user is also changing importance preference of different wikiprojects from "high" to "low" per its pov. ACMehta (talk) 12:06, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK … I will get to this. Daniel Case (talk) 13:31, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, sure. I put up this case here, as you have already been involved in taking action twice against the IP related to this very account above. So, i thought you'd get the context. Both, the unconstructive editing and usage of foul language and personal attacks are common by this new user (even after being warned and temp blocked by another admin) as listed above. Please, have a look at my detailed complaint above here to verify the same yourself. ACMehta (talk) 04:44, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK, this is less compłicated than I thought. He hasn’t edited in over a month. There is no ongoing damage to the project and thus any sanctions would not accomplish anything Daniel Case (talk) 20:55, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think there is some confusion here. Please have a look at his contributions history, He (the new account Rajarshinandi, which i complained above) has last edited on 3 August itself, and had majority of these unconstructive edits on or just before 25 July (which is again just last week). Also, all these unocon edits and usage of foul language even after being warned and blocked for a day, is also very recent (in last 1-2 weeks). So, i request you to have a look at this again please and act accordingly. ACMehta (talk) 04:30, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think you misunderstood these edits and complaints to the IP contribs history which i complained above twice (and you're correct he hasnt edited for a month after you last blocked them). But this complaint is against the new account Rajarshinandi, which was made exactly after it and whose editing activity, reverts and the set of pages exactly matches this IP. Plus all these complaints above are made against this new account. Please, have a look at them again and you will get my intent of complaining here again to you. Thankss. Page protection

Hi Daniel Case,

You previously placed the article Seeman under indefinite semi-protection due to BLP violations and logged it in WP:AELOG/2024#IPA. Recently, there has been BLP violations, disruptions and edit warring by auto confirmed accounts. There seems to be some form of off-wiki coordination when looking at their contribution histories. I recently left a comment on another editor's talk page and started it with "Unfortunately, I have to agree with [your name]". With that, I did not mean that I unfortunately have to agree with you as a person; that was not my intention at all. Good article nominations RfC

Hi Daniel Case,

There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.

By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.

Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:02, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Unprotection requests

The drama could have been avoided - it's neither your fault nor mine that the new user does not read the very prominent instructions on that noticeboard before posting their requests. Since you asked however, my preference (what I finally ended up doing for everyone) is that you could either simply ping the protecting (former)admin, or quickly examine the routine request (a glance at the page history at the period in question) and take the appropriate action without linking to extraneous governance cases which might impinge on policy. It's very easy to check if a user or admin is still active, just click on 'contributions' on a user page or talk page. As it happens, admin The Bushranger logically declined request. All's well hat ends well. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:24, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Henry IV of France

Hi, would you please take a close look at Henry IV of France? The page has been very long term vandalism target and had a three year semi-protection expire in May of this year. Disruptive vandalism has once again started up since, with the few much shorter protections since not nearly sufficient. See edit and protection histories. It's clear much longer semi-protection is needed for this page. Can you help? Brendandalet (talk) 02:18, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Another admin has protected the page for three days. You should make your request of her. Daniel Case (talk) 02:54, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
