Hi Dabmasterars. Thank you for your work on Shredders (video game). Another editor, 11WB, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

This looks fine, however it is important to quote what the source actually says. For example, Windows Central says the game has "frequent performance issues, but the article uses the word "unstable" instead. This would be an acceptable summary without the quotations. It would be good to go over the article one more time to make these corrections. Good work otherwise!

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|11WB}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Chad

[edit]

Hey bud, you could have just explained your reason for adding the template and left it at that. That's what a decent, mature individual would have done. Adding that you can't believe you have to explain it to me is purely a dick move. Do you know everything that is to be known on Wikipedia? I doubt it. I don't either. Don't be rude to people. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 19:57, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I explained my reasoning perfectly clear in the second diff note. If you want a discussion about whether to keep the disambiguation or not, post it in Talk:Chad (slang). Sorry if I appear to be a dick. Dabmasterars [RU/COM] (talk/contribs) 11:31, 12 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Leon S. Kennedy edit war (resolved)

[edit]

Stop icon Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Working on some extra Minecraft articles

[edit]

Hi, figured I should let you know about these and get your thoughts on them based on your work at Development of Minecraft: Java Edition.

I'm currently working on two extra Minecraft development related articles (or planning to work on, they're pretty bare right now): List of Minecraft editions and, coverage pending, Development of Minecraft legacy console editions. As for why I am working on these, I feel that these are concepts not really covered that well on the main Minecraft article, and even if they were, there is probably enough material there to warrant something separate anyways. Furthermore,

  • I feel that a list of Minecraft versions is something that makes sense since we have one for Doom ports, and there is certainly enough differences between each version that this article could exist. Some of these ports aren't covered in the main Minecraft article at all.
  • Legacy console would be a bit more finicky, but considering it had its own development info, history, and quite significant differences between it and other Minecraft versions, all of which are not something necessarily documented well in the main article as opposed to Java and Bedrock. I think there could be enough to warrant a page. If it doesn't pan out, I will simply merge it into the editions list.

If you have any thoughts on these ideas, then let me know. You're also more than free to contribute to these if you wish, even while they aren't in mainspace. λ NegativeMP1 22:17, 2 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

@NegativeMP1 I don't mind these ideas and could definitely help, especially with sourcing. I wanted to make a development page about Bedrock and Console too, but the Java page took me over two weeks to write and I got a bit burnt out.
I also wanted to make a page about the Marketplace, but felt like there is too little information, especially with all reliable sources I found just reporting random collabs and stats, and none of the criticisms that persistently come from the community. That's the weird thing, some stuff that feels like a big deal (such as the Mojang lawsuit) doesn't get covered. When the 2b2t censorship moment happened, I found only one reliable source that talked about it (thanks, GamesRadar+). Though not every source needs to be on the WP:VG/S, the criticism and the controversial info sections definitely need reliability.
The development pages are a lot of work, but they should all be notable enough to warrant pages. My advice on drafts is usually to compile a bunch of sources first and then base an article on that, with sources being near a word/sentence that describes the theme (for example: discontinuation[1]). In our case though, you can focus on writing stuff and I can find sources. Dabmasterars [RU/COM] (talk/contribs) 05:11, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I agree there should also be one for Bedrock, eventually. My envisioned set up for all of this is that there can be development pages for the big three main iterations: Java, Bedrock (also with Pocket Edition), and Legacy consoles. Obviously the main Minecraft article would cover all of these, the development history of the game as a whole, and other things, but these are the three that I think have enough of a distinct "history" to them that they could stand as separate pages. There's details that all of these can go into that simply wouldn't be due on the main article.
And yeah, that's typically how I go about draft creation. If you think you could help compile the sourcing, then that'd be great. I'll do the writing. Plus, with Legacy console at least, I'd hope that that could be nominated for GA not longer after being sent to mainspace; if that is the case, then we could co-nom, if you're open to the idea. λ NegativeMP1 05:25, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

The meaning of “consensus”

[edit]

Hello, it’s very common for newer editors to assume that Wikipedia consensus comes down to a vote-count, such as the count you gave in your edit summary. That is not correct. I suggest reading WP:CONSENSUS and WP:VOTE before the next time you engage with any determination of consensus. Mikewem (talk) 18:09, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the notification. I knew about the "not a vote" rule in deletion discussions, but never really thought about it outside of them. Not sure how to handle this correctly, since I don't fully understand the full guideline and there are no administrators who would have to resolve these like in deletion discussions, so for now I guess I'll abstain from touching the pages. Dabmasterars [RU/COM] (talk/contribs) 18:51, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Generally, the procedure in a policy disagreement like this would be to start a WP:RFC. Mikewem (talk) 21:46, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Help with translation

[edit]

Hiya, I'm that guy who helped you with the Development of Minecraft: Java Edition article. Anyway, I've been working on the AVGN article and found out the video game adaptation had its own article, but only in Russian. Using a translator on Firefox, I've attempted to translate it into English. Since I don't know Russian, if you can, please look over the article I've written to see if it has any errors. Here the article in English: Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures and in Russian: The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures.

Cheers! 1timeuse75 (talk) 13:45, 18 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'll help. My Russian user page shows the articles I've translated. I also don't shy from using a translator, but I do corrections and complete rewrites where needed. One problem is that ruWP has a way lower standard of notability in terms of sources, leading to pages such as Everlasting Summer and The Henry Stickmin Collection (both deleted due to notability) being intact on their respective Russian pages (latter is a good article, in fact). Nevertheless, the AVGN game article clearly has reliable sources, so it'll stay. Dabmasterars [RU/COM] (talk/contribs) 13:56, 18 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for helping! Two random questions. In Russian, is there a equivalent to the word "nerd"? For some reason my Firefox translator keeps trying to say "Ned" and "Nörd". On the topic of good articles, I remember that in one of your edit summery you said that you want to get SKG to GA status. Any updates on that? 1timeuse75 (talk) 19:36, 18 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
No problem. These were easy fixes.
  1. The Russian word for nerd is нёрд (direct transliteration) or ботан (education specific).
  2. For now the SKG page is a bit messy, with bits of history being in "Activities", "Debates" and "Effects". Not unreadable, but I feel like a restructuring would be beneficial. However, such changes should only be done once everyone agrees on what the article should look like, i.e. consensus. Stop Destroying Videogames could maybe even get its own page due to the amount of coverage, though again this requires consensus. If you're interested in that, feel free to initiate a talk discussion first if you want.
Dabmasterars [RU/COM] (talk/contribs) 20:07, 18 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Huh, i guess i haven't seen the article in a hot minute. I think the real problem is that there isn't another "consumer movement" article to compare to. Personalty, I would have the format be like "Overview", "History" (which would merge the "Activities", "Debates" sections), and "Reception". I haven't read the full article so i don't know how feasible this is. The "Members" section is the weakest, and should be expanded or removed IMO. I currently working on main AVGN article, so I sadly can't help out with starting a discussion.
I wish you the best of luck with improving the article to GA! 1timeuse75 (talk) 13:52, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Would you please stop reintroducing LLM-generated content to the article on generative AI pornography?

[edit]

Hello @Dabmasterars!

It looks like you may have reintroduced LLM-generated content to Generative AI pornography in this diff. While I'm sure that you are doing this in good faith, the current version which you have rebuilt from the pre-stub revisions seems to still have various signs of LLM-generated content in it (signs in bold):

  • "generate lifelike images, videos or animations"
  • "consensual replication of individuals with verification"
  • "allowing victims to report and remove harmful content"
  • "Overtime, AI tools had advanced to generate highly realistic adult content, amplifying calls for regulation"

From what I can tell, the current revision of this article as of writing is LLM-contaminated text, slowly sprinkled with human errors such that it fooled the folks at AfD into believing that it was manmade in its entirety.

Would you please rewrite the article so that it reads as, and actually is, manmade?

Thank you for your time.

P.S. In the meantime, I am going to WP:BEBOLD and restore the article to a variant of my stubified revision. Once you (or others) have a revision that is rewritten more thoroughly (no offense), you are welcome to replace the stubified version altogether. GrinningIodize (articles without a Wikidata item) (talk) 15:24, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

To be clear, I am not accusing you of LLM use. All of the suspicious phrasings mentioned above are found in pre-stubification revisions to some extent as well. GrinningIodize (articles without a Wikidata item) (talk) 15:26, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
If it's been verified to be factual and properly sourced, does it really matter? Honestly, if you have such a problem with the text, then you might as well rewrite it yourself. You can use my "partially fixed" version as a starting point. Dabmasterars [RU/COM] (talk/contribs) 17:19, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I would say that content which violates relevant content policies should in fact be modified to comply with such policies. I do not intend to invest my time and energy into reading over an LLM-generated behemoth and trying to rewrite it, and if you don't feel like doing that either, that's alright. We can leave it as a stub until someone else comes along and fluffs it out again. GrinningIodize (articles without a Wikidata item) (talk) 17:29, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
