Learn what Wikipedians do and discover how to help. Has a list of maintenance tasks you can do.
- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Invitation to join the Vital Signs project
[edit]Hello! I saw you add yourself as a participant to the WP:WikiProject Medicine recently. I wanted to invite you to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Vital Signs 2026 campaign where we're aiming to improve all of our 100 top-importance articles. While there aren't any purely genetic diseases on the list, there are plenty with a high genetic component. We're also still finalising the list, and a case could be made to add cystic fibrosis, given its high pageviews.
I'd also like to invite you to add yourself to the newsletter mailing list if you'd like to stay up-to-date with the group. Finally, did you know we have a Collaboration of the Month? Great place to work together with more experienced editors and learn about Wikipedia's guideline for medical editing, such as the one on using recent secondary sources. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 08:59, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
