Could you re-mainspace Draft:1964 Harpersville tornado? I’m on mobile and can’t do the stuff I usually would due to lag. EF5 02:36, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

That's between you and the editor who draftified it, and I'm not getting involved except to enforce that it absolutely cannot be in categories so long as it's in draftspace, per WP:DRAFTNOCAT. So if you want it remainspaced you'll need to take it up with the editor who moved it in the first place, but do not reenable the categories in advance of it being moved back. And even if and when it does get moved back, the categories need to be reenabled as a new edit, not as a revert of my edit, because my edit was not a revertable mistake that I deserve to get slapped in the face with a big red revert notification for. A barnstar for you!

[edit]
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Hello, Bearcat,

I was just looking over your contributions page for the past day and I couldn't figure out how you got more than a few hours for sleep. How you have been here for over 20 years and not burned out yet is astonishing to me. I work a lot with expiring drafts and categories and frequently run into your work so I just wanted to express my gratitude to you. They say that no one on Wikipedia is irreplaceable but I don't want to test that old fashioned wisdom. Please do whatever you need to do to recharge, take a WikiBreak or vacation so you keep contributing. Maybe not at this prolific rate but so you don't take off and find another activity to devote your time to. So many thanks to you! Liz Read! Talk! 18:45, 21 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Some advice?

[edit]

Hi there, I recently worked on one of your stubs, the one on Michael Occhipinti, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to give some feedback on it? I'm pretty new to Wikipedia so not 100% sure I cited sources correctly. Thanks!!!  Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmarky9873 (talkcontribs) 14:17, 22 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Guidance on COI and Draft Reviews

[edit]

Hi Bearcat,

I really need some guidance. I recently started creating drafts for academics, and I think I need someone to help me understand what my next steps should be.

Some of the drafts I created are Draft:Edwin Gerow, Draft:Eric Le Ru, Draft:Matthew Budoff, Draft:Rod Badcock, and Draft:Krzysztof Pawlikowski. I also added a fully informstive content to the existing Draft:Marek Tesar.

What I would like to understand is whether creating Wikipedia articles about academics who work at the same institution could be considered a conflict of interest (COI), as Deb raised this concern. I want to be transparent about what I am doing here and make it clear that I am an independent editor, just like anyone else.

I added a fully informative article to Draft:Marek Tesar and moved it to the mainspace. However, when I checked back a few days later, it had been moved back to draft space. I was wondering why that happened, as the subject clearly meet the requirements of WP:GNG and WP:NPROF based on the sources cited in the article. Deb later told me, "I'm waiting for an uninvolved person to review it."

Please take a look at the draft when you have a chance and guide me through it. I'm really hoping to see those drafts go live; it would give me more confidence in my future contributions.

Thanks for your time! FactFinderSuri (talk) 15:12, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Unprotected Anthony De Sa

[edit]

Courtesy notice that I have unprotected Anthony De Sa, which you protected in 2015. Rusalkii (talk) 20:03, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

And Baraúna, Paraíba and Arjang. Possibly more to follow, I'm working through User:Rusalkii/Candidates for unprotection. Rusalkii (talk) 20:28, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

WP:USERNOCAT

[edit]

I will use Template:Draft categories to wrap the categories that the user has put in a sandbox article. Generates more understanding in some cases than simple deletion. Cheers!Naraht (talk) 13:22, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

red cats

[edit]

Hi, I see you monitor for red-linked categories, idk if you were aware of WP:AIREDCAT? Ofc it's up to you, but idk if you may want to keep an eye out for repeat-offenders/suspicious users, no worries if not (tbh I bet you probably have to do it at speed so it's not possible, but I thought I'd check) Kowal2701 (talk, contribs) 17:20, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
