Rationale for split from World and Sam Altman
[edit]So! I see a tiny stub for this topic was already deleted, which I agree with, since it consisted wholly of info already on World (blockchain). But, looking through recent press, I now think a split from World is warranted. I'll admit to an aesthetic bias (I dislike smushing company pages into notable product pages, since it makes infoboxes and categories a mess), but also:
1) Just based on newspaper articles, the World project and TfH are independently notable. Yes, lots of sources only talk about World, but others like , , and so on focus more or entirely on Tools for Humanity.
2) Journalists sometimes uses Worldcoin/World and Tools for Humanity interchangeably, but other times they're framed as distinct, with World as a product/project, and TfH as a developer/holding company with multiple brands, i.e. World and the Orb thing. Even further confusing since journalists sometimes call the "Orb" device a World creation (), while others call it a TfH project (), but the corporate sites like www.toolsforhumanity.com and world.org/orb depict the orb as a Tools for Humanity brand that happens to be used by World, but not made by it.
Side note that I scanned the World page for info to potentially move over, but except the regulations section, there wasn't much to work with. And I'd rather not mess with that section. Worried that chopping it would just make for a confusing mess. ~2026-36566-13 (talk) 05:48, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
