[edit]We are probably all familiar with emails telling us that "Your McAfee subscription 'is about to expire/has expired'" and I wonder if this should be on this page or as a notable example of email spam. Wastrel Way (talk) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 16:03, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- Only if reliable sources indicate that this is a highly unusual aspect of McAfee. That's unlikely. O3000, Ret. (talk) 11:44, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
No Reference, possible inaccurate information? History - 1987-1999
[edit]History section - 1987-1999. At end it has this. "Network Associates was formed in 1997 as a merger of McAfee Associates, Network General, PGP Corporation and Helix Software."
PGP Corp was founded in 2002. So unless that is wrong, its impossible it was part of the merger.
Curious which part is inaccurate, and if this needs updating? ~2026-12336-87 (talk) 16:35, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
Reads like an advertisement
[edit]Just had a read through this, and was struck by how much this article feels like it was written by McAfee's PR department.
Although it is littered throughout the article, check out the History section (especially the more recent history) for an example of what I mean. Bad grammar throughout as well. WAUthethird (talk) 07:30, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
