Move details about the systems for particular countries to separate articles
[edit]Would it be reasonable to shorten the article by moving the details for particular countries to individual articles? Somebody has created an article for India, though it is currently shorter than the section in this article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_recognition_system#India_2 I have added a link - shall we move the text there? Oitio (talk) 23:11, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Oitio this is a broad enough topic for many countries to have their own article covering it. Also, to keep this article in sync with those articles the Excerpt template could be used to pull in their leads, etc, to this article, keeping editing in one place. Facial Recgonition
[edit]According to academics, populations of undocumented immigrants in the US are especially vulnerable to facial recongnition technologies, espcially with respect to immigration enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement used facial recgonition technology to identify and track undocumented inidiviulas without the constitituonal protections avainable to Americans. Legal research shows all of this raises distict civil liberties concerns. The legal research also provides frameworks that might provide further protections, like identifying biometric face data as intellectial property. Possible AI text
[edit]Concerns have been raised in part of about AI-generated content in this article. This is a procedural talk page section to discuss it. There is no need to ping me in response. Rationale: see WP:AISIGNS; this was a 2024 edit Gnomingstuff (talk) 19:59, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
