Sampang Regency (Madurese: Kabhupatèn Sâmpang) is a regency (Indonesian: kabupaten) of East Java province, Indonesia. It is situated on Madura Island, bordering on Pamekasan Regency to the east, the Java Sea to the north, Bangkalan Regency to the west, and Madura Strait to the south. It covers an area of 1,228.25 km2, and had a population of at the 2010 census of 877,772[2] and at the 2020 census of 969,694;[3] the official estimate as at mid 2025 was 1,046,574.[1] The administrative centre is the port of Sampang, on the south coast of Madura.

Sampang Regency consists of fourteen districts (Indonesian: kecamatan), tabulated below with their areas and their populations at the 2010 census[2] and the 2020 census,[3] together with the official estimates as at mid 2025.[1] For convenience these are grouped into southern and northern geographical sectors (which have no adminstrative identity). The table also includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number of administrative villages in each district (totaling 180 rural desa and 6 urban kelurahan - the latter all in Sampang District), and its postcode.

Note: (a) Sampang District includes the small island of Pulau Mandangin, off the south coast of Madura.
(b) comprises 6 kelurahan (Banyuanyar, Dalpenang, Gunung Sekar, Karang Dalem, Polagan and Rong Tengah) and 12 desa.
(c) Ketapang, a port on the north coast of Madura, is not to be confused with Ketapang in West Kalimantan; it serves as a vital coastal gateway on the northern shore of Madura Island, a region characterized by its dramatic limestone landscapes, arid rolling hills, and expansive views of the Java Sea. It includes the villages (desa) of Ketapang Timur (with 9,009 population in mid 2024), Ketapang Daya (11,666), Ketapang Laok (9,925) and Ketapang Barat (9,273), for a total of 39,873 inhabitants in 38.44 km2.[4]
