Philip Vickerman (born 1968) is a British academic, and professor of inclusive education and learning, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Student Experience) at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).[1] He is a member of the university's executive leadership team.[1]
Aged 16, he failed all his GCSEs, bar English, stayed on for another year and failed them all again.[2] He went to college aged 18.[2] He earned a degree in educational psychology from The Open University, which he attended from 1989 to 1995, and a PhD from the University of Leeds with a thesis entitled "Training Physical Education Teachers to Include Children with Special Educational Needs", from 1999 and 2004, supervised by Professor David Sugden.[3]
Vickerman has worked at LJMU since 1995, starting as a lecturer at the IM Marsh Campus.[2]
