Giaime Mula (born 29 June 1995)[1], known by the stage name Giaime, is an Italian rapper.

Early life

[edit]

Born in Milan, Giaime spent his childhood in Pescara, his mother's hometown, until 2006 when he returned to the Lombard capital.[2]

Career

[edit]

Giaime began his musical career at just fourteen, when he began collaborating with rappers Zangherr and MastaRais; with the latter, he released the song "Sulla linea del limite" in late 2011.[3]

Between 2010 and 2012, the rapper played Ricky in the TV series In tour and Young Caesar in the comedy show Sketch Up both airing on Disney Channel.[4] Between 2010 and 2016 he was part of the Zero2 crew.[citation needed]

In 2013, he released his first studio album, titled Blue Magic via Universal Music. Two years later, he released the EP Prima scelta.[5]

In 2017, he met record producer Andry the Hitmaker, with whom he released several singles. In 2020, his second EP Mula was released.[6]. Two of his 2019 singles, "Fiori" and "Mi ami o no", were certified platinum by the Italian Music Federation, selling 70,000 units nationwide.[7] "Mi ami o no" also reached number 14 on the Top Singles chart.[8]

The following year, Giaime released the single "Parola", produced in collaboration with Lazza and Emis Killa. It reached fourteenth in the Italian charts[9] and was certified gold (25,000 sales).[10] The song was included in Mula.

In 2021, he released Figlio maschio, his second studio album. The album is influenced by reggaeton and with punk rock sounds; it features collaborations with artists such as Chadia Rodríguez, Gué Pequeno, Jake La Furia, Nashley and Rose Villain.[11][12]
