Puff Coffee is a coffee business in Portland, Oregon, United States. The business was established by Duane Sorenson in 2017, initially as a mail-order coffee roaster. Puff opened its first cafe in southeast Portland in 2022.

Description

Puff Coffee operates a shop on Stark Street in southeast Portland. The interior has a marble counter, light walls, blonde wood, and small bistro tables. There is also a figure of E.T.[1] Puff offers coffees from Colombia, Ethiopia, Mexico, and Sumatra, as well as blends.[2] Puff's Wes Lang-designed logo is a metal chamber pipe.[3][4] The business sells branded merchandise such as ashtrays and mugs.[5]

History

The business was founded by Duane Sorenson. Puff began operating in 2017,[6] initially as a mail-order roasting company without a cafe, retail locations, or wholesale operations.[7][8][9] The first cafe opened in 2022.[10][11]

Puff has hosted a residency for Pipsqueak Bagels.[12]

Reception

Lindsay D. Mattison ranked Puff second in Tasting Table's 2023 list of Portland's best coffee shops.[13] Puff won in the Best Coffee category of Willamette Week's annual 'Best of Portland' readers' poll in 2026.[14]
